Hi,

I am looking to get a Color Laser Printer as my kid's kindergarten often asks us to print photo collages for class sharing sessions. I guess there is no need for a photo printer, as a (A4) color laser is more versatile. (Or is a color inkjet better?)

Since this will be my only home printer, an attached scanner will be a good add-on, though not compulsory.

However, wifi is a must as I have nowhere to put it and will probably stuff it at a corner somewhere that have a power socket.

I would appreciate any recommendations on what brand/model to buy.

Thank you.

Since it is for your kid's school, probably quality as long as passable, should be fine.

Personally, before I buy a printer, I will research on the toner / cartridges first. Because the consumables will cost more in a long run.

I basically will not go for inkjet because my experience for those I got in the past is that the ink will dries up if I don't print for too long. But laser colour toners are not cheap. In fact, the toner usually cost as much or even more than the printer itself.

So if you can find a printer that got cheap and good 3rd party toners, then can consider.

For me, i find that inkjet is better in color...especially on photo paper, it look vivid.

a lot of people only look at printer....but the first thing u should consider is the costs for long terms...... the ink/the toner.

laser is good in cost saving and less maintenance required. However, mostly are using mono only. color toner not worth.....

inkjet wise, as long u maintain regularly and buy correct ink...it can lasts for years.

i used brother, hp, epson and canon.

in terms of printing costs, epson is the cheapest. u can choose by popularity, then check the oem ink costs.
