Paid reviews highly ratedI had 3 8bitdo Switch controllers.
Pairing was a pain, battery drain another issue.
Gave up and got the Switch Pro controllers.
I really don't get why 8bitdo are so highly rated.
That's what I feel.Paid reviews highly rated![]()

Been using PS3, and then PS4 and now PS5 controllers on PC.
Using DS4Windows, I can set multiple profiles for media usage and with the lightbar being dim and yet color coded for that specific profile.
To switch between profiles, it's as simple as sliding 2 fingers from right to left or left to right on the touch bar.
And to turn the controller off, it's as simple as pressing the Start + PS button. It's very quick and responsive.
The Playstation controller layout has always been consistent and well placed. So it's easy to get a hang of it.
I tried the Xbox controller recently and felt out of place with how the left joystick is high up while the dominant aiming joystick is low. It felt awkward to use and especially aim. And the amount of plastic and cheap noise the Xbox Series X controller makes was a joke compared to the very quiet PS5 controller.
The good thing is, depending on the game, some games will even use the Playsation icons in their games. And knowing where ABXY icons on screen to where it is on the PS5 controller is quite intuitive. So you won't have to 'think' about where it is supposed to be placed on the controller.
And if you are worried about adding programs to your PC, DS4Windows doesn't need to be installed. As long as you unzip the file to whatever folder, you can immediately run the program via that folder and you can add the program to startup or use the settings to enable the program upon your PC startup.
But once you run it, then the only thing you have to install are drivers. It's a very light program that doesn't affect my PC usage for years.
Oh! And did I also tell you that you can use the touchpad like a mousepad and move your mouse on screen and click or right-click all with the PS5 controller thanks to DS4Windows? It is so useful when there are pop-ups when launching certain games all without reaching for the mouse and keyboard. It is so versatile and useful in every way.
I own an Xbox Series X, a PS5 and PC. So I've experienced it all.![]()
