Hi,

appreciate if experts can comment on a rig I'm building for my work purpose. Mainly data computing and storing it.

Processor: i7-4771 3.5ghz
Mobo: Gigabyte H87-D3H
HDD: 3x Toshiba 7200rpm 3TB
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256gb
RAM: Kingston HyperX 1600 cl10
GPU: MSI R7850 2GB twin frozr OC
PSU: Antec HCP 750W 80+ Gold
Casing: 150bucks budget, look for big space and no. of fans
Optical: LG/Samsung multi-dvd
Keyboard/mouse: Logitech wireless bundle

Sum up around $2400.

Any comments? especially on GPU, dun need to play games but may need to use the GPU for floating point calculations.

TIA! :)

7970GE or r9-280 and above... Pretty good double-precision floating point performance. E.g They are monsters for bitcoin mining, folding@home, etc.
