There's nothing wrong with going Intel. But the i5 is a bit overkill for a parents' web surfing pc. Plus if you wanna do some occasional light duty gaming like esports games (Dota2, CS:GO, L4D2, LOL, Overwatch) for casual, then Ryzen APU will fit your usage much more than an Intel i5, though the i5 have much better compute power, but that's proven redundant for your use case. Thanks guys. Appreciate it. Think will go for amd as it is cheaper, in fact it is my first amd buy for as long as i can remember, been using intel for ages.
Plus a 8gb ram is sufficientAlternatively, can opt for Ryzen if you want better gaming experience, as the integrated GPU from Ryzen APU series is better performance than Intel UHD. For the usage you stated, I don't think you need Intel Core i5.
ASROCK AB350 Gaming ITX + AMD Ryzen 2200G: $312 from PC Themes.
The rest can follow the above.
