Hi all,

It has been 6 yrs since my last PC upgrade so am planning to upgrade soon and need recommendation for the parts. Will be using it mainly for gaming like FM, Civ , FF15 and maybe Diablo 4?

Wanted to go for AMD rig as I usually alternate between AMD and Intel/Nvidia builds but have been reading good reviews recently about Intel and Nvidia so am undecided which build to go for.

My current build is
MB+CPU: Gigabyte B150M-D3H +i5-6500
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM DDR4-2133 CL15 8GB
GPU: Zotac GTX 970 4GB Twin Fan OC
HDD/SDD: Samsung SSD 850 Evo 120GB, WD Black 500GB
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M500
CASE: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2
OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit

Going to reuse
SDD/HDD
CASE

I know that GPU prices are insane now. Should I wait a 1-2 yrs later or should I upgrade now? Even though my current build serves my needs, I am thinking that if the covid situation persists, I will be stuck at home and will surely buy some games to relieve my boredom but scared that my current PC cannot support. My budget is around $1600 and can go up to $2000 if needed. Any experts can advise? Thanks!

then no need to upgrade. gtx 970 is still good enough for most games, and tweaking graphics settings will go a long way in prolonging its useful life. you'll be paying a hefty markup for anything more powerful, so yes do hold out until u find a good deal.
