Recommendation for Note taking software

1) Must be able store code snippet - and cannot lose formatting
2) Cloud based
3) Can a segregate between work home and play
4) Have a todo list

I have used before-
1) Notepad - if I accidentally click X content deleted
2) Notepad++ - don't have the same issue as 1)
3) Evernote - its paid software
4) microsoft onenote, do like the tab as it takes up too much space

Evernote is freeware la. usually don't exceed bandwidth per month
