Hi
Anyone can recommend a good and sleek headset with microphone for work purpose? Bluetooth connectivity preferred
Currently using laptop in-built mic and speaker. Not ideal for zoom meetings.
Budget probably not more than $150

If you dont mind local products, creative sound blaster jam v2 seems to fit your need without breaking the bank.

Used some of their other WFH series I find it great for the price.

I don't mind as long as it serves its purpose (have a creative outlier air for exercise)
I just had a look at this model. It doesn't have the typical microphone extender. Just wondering if that will affect the quality of speech. Reason to get a headset is because it is tiring to project my voice to my laptop and need to ensure no other background noises.

I strongly discourage a wireless headset, this is because Window OS Bluetooth audio profile is not as reliable. I have received numerous feedback from friends and colleagues that claim they do not connect sometimes. Please consider getting a wired headset instead, and preferably USB, not 3.5mm. These USB headsets cost below $100 and support in-line controls like mic mute, volume controls, so that you do not have to fumble on controls.

Agreed on that Bluetooth comment.

For blueooth connection, listening to music streamed from laptop is OK, however, for conference call, it's unreliable. So far, my Plantronics Voyager 5200 served me well in terms of concall, however, it created other problems (e.g. bluetooth mouse and keyboard become unresponsive and/or slow).

So I tried Logitech H600 recently with it's dedicated and proprietary USB dongle to avoid using Bluetooth, was disappointed that it's worst than my Bluetooth Plantronics Voyager in terms of comfort, range, clarity and reliability.

For wired USB headset, I'm using Plantronics Blackwire 5220 which is comfortable and a device you can trust for your important concall.

bought a cheap condenser mic (bm-800) with a 4 channel mixer (which has +48v), connect to windows pc via usb and it works great. can pipe in music as background for workshop facilitation.

I have a similar setup - using the Creative Sound Blaster K3+. I can even record audio for online meeting sessions.

In any case, my favourite WFH headset must be Creative Chat USB. Its earpads are cushy, the mic auto-mutes when I swivel up, there is in-line controls with mute LED for convenience.

I have the HD 400s and it works well for me when I need extra isolation from background noise. But if TS prefers on ears headset, can take a look at Sennheiser SC 165. The 3.5mm jack model is at a very good price at Amazon and it even sounds good at music.

Or can consider Jabra headset which are good for calls, but they don't sound as good for music.

Hi all now in 2023 can recommend one for work from home? I got a the Poly Blackwire 3320 headset and its very chui...the coating on the headband falling off, the sponge ear pads tearing. Looking for the following qualities :

1. Noise cancelling mic
2. Overear to reduce surrounding noise disturbance
3. Durable
4. Preferably not over $200

Thanks!

The Logitech vibe 100 seems not bad
Thanks, was on the verge of getting the Jabra Evolve 2 40 which is more expensive and premium looking. Now thinking if I can just get this Logitech one your recommended. Only disadvantage is it is wireless means battery can go dead.

OH yah another thing to consider, if using office provided laptop, cannot install those proprietary software.
