custom keyboard ish jin scary rabbit hole

You will only jump into the rabbit hole if you are convinced. Like the hi-fi era enthusiast.

I got a friend sibei “into” this, invite me over to his place to try out his >10 sets of custom keyboards, self tune spring, self lubricate, etc. I tried typing on all and still cannot appreciate. Still find my trusty Filco much better type feel than his custom collections.

Eventually i came to a conclusion. My fingers are more low ses than his.

Can anyone recommend me a compatible shine throught keycap for my keybaord - Steelseries Apex 7 ?

i wanted to try stainless steel keycaps.. .. wonder if it's good or heavy. I do a lot of typing and gaming .

how is the gaming latency for Apex 7? Rtings logged 6.8ms which is rather "high" as compare to others (Corsair LUX 65).

I need pass-thru USB port and low latency arrow keys so I am looking at Apex 7 TKL, Apex Pro TKL or Corsair K65 LUX.

i think forget abt the pass thru USB port

easy to get alternatives for that

also dont get cherry mx red key, the high distance travel make it pointless to get low latency kb already.

I need the pass thru USB to plug-in my Yubikey 2FA. Currently using Daskeyboard 4C TKL (brown s/w), trying to find a balance for my need which are USB port/TKL/low latency gaming.

as for cherry mx red, thanks for the info... sadly the Apex Pro/7 and Corsair K65 all came with red switches (arrow keys).

Will the Corsair K65 Rapidfire (speed switches) make a difference? regretted didn't snatch it when Amazon SG stocked the last set and it was selling at $110 only. :(
