Recommendation on rig

Budget of 1.2 to 1.4k, for work and light gaming (Dota 2 / Diablo 3).

Looking to get a new rig which is pre-assembled with the following:

- i5 with Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX MB (prefer non-MSI brand)
- 8gb ram
- 1or 2 tb HDD and 120/240gb SSD (main drive)
- graphics card
- psu
- win 7 OS
- odd
- casing with at least 2 front usb port and audio port
- 3.5" multi-card reader (SD/XD/CF)

is it cheaper to get rig from PCTheme with assembly?

what is the diff between WD blue and green? Which is more stable?

for ram, does dual channel still work? or better to get single stick 1x8gb?

U can go pctheme ask them quote u price see how..

Blue is faster but also runs cool, green is slower and energy efficient

Better to get dual kit becos if 1 got issue u still have another to use first..

Would a CM 311 or 343 casing fit the components?

B75m is for ivy bridge proc (3rd gen)

B85m is for haswell proc (4th gen)

Actually among the 3 brands MSI Asrock and gigabyte.


If you want to compare, gigabyte is the most wasted.

Because gigabyte does not offer any pcie x1 slot. Only 2 pcie x16 slot to be used for GPU.

They offer 2x PCI slots. This is a waste if you do no have old items to use like TV tuner or old sound card running on PCI.

Asrock on the other hand offers 1 PCI slot and 1 pcie x1 slot. With 2x pcie x16 slot for dual GPU.

Wheares MSI do not have PCI slot. Instead they give 2 of the pcie x1 slot. Which is better. Giving you more options for new cards like wireless card, sound card etc.

Since you say you don't want MSI then Asrock loh.

But comparing these 2 asrock boards. the pro4 seems to have a better layout and useful I/Os. (less the pci-e 1x, if not use the 16x slot as 1x, if not going for x-fire)

Yea, the Asrock GL does have alot items stripped down. But asrock board requires 8pin power for CPU, would it be better in terms of stability, in any recommendations? Or only useful for users whom wanna OC.

Would say more stable power supplied to the CPU. Ideally when OCing.
