Recommendation: PC Sound System

I got one set at 500 and the other at 320 as they were clearing stock in 2011.
If I remember correctly I read that the Mako was so expensive to make that Razer wasn't making much out of it. Thought I'd never see another 2.1 from Razer

The Logitech Z906. There is a reason why many people use it for years and years and it was highly recommended in the audiophile forums. I use it for music, TV, games and movies. It has so much clarity in the highs, mids and lows that every sound sounds very natural and with the dedicated subwoofer that you can adjust the levels of the bass, you can suit it to how strong you want the bass to be and will even beat any HTS's physically huge bass with it's own small but very awesomely clear and not muffled bass.
Been using it for almost 5 years while others, even more than that. Plus, it is THX certified and can accept any forms of Dolby and DTS format including a direct Atmos input without any issue even though it is just a 5.1 surround system. Beating many $1-2K sound systems especially soundbars that tends to sound muffled in the highs or mids and not as surround feeling with them especially in the rear.
Price is only around $500 but you will use it for a long time. It is very durable too as my previous setup (using the not so trusty M3 tapes that cannot even hold my LED strips as well) used to drop my right speaker at waist level like more than 20 times till I give up. And yet, the speaker still works. It is that reliable as well.
PS: Atmos signal was when I play the sound from PC to TV and with TV's A/V sync set to Bypass instead of Off so as to allow no processing delay by the TV and with an optical cable straight to the speaker. (my HTS shows Atmos signal)
Else, my setup will be from the Creative X7 with the 4 dedicated audio ports straight to the Z906 since most of my output will be converted to 5.1 PCM thanks to MPC K-lite allowing for the Soundblaster X7 to clear up the audio even more for that added clarity.
Atmos signal is detected if I allow a bypass in the audio codec but with PCM, it is basically the same amount of channels sent. So no difference but will be useful for HTS that does not support DTS:X.

That's why I said, I'ld get a creative katana if I didn't already have the (far superior) logitech z906. I know in terms of sound quality the Z906 is superior, but one soundbar vs 5 satellites and a control unit (6 individual items) (and the attached cables!!!) is quite appealing in terms of simplicity...
Especially now that CNY is coming and I have to really clean my computer table...

Yes. It was fixed at Sim Lim at one of the back shops.
It worked for another 2 years before dying for good. That was the set had in the living room. I'm still using my newer set in my bedroom which has been going since 2011

It was obsoleted by late 2010. When I bought my second set in 2011, they were already clearing stock.
Overall it had a very short run.think 2008 to 2010
Razer's first desktop speaker effort really aced it after much marketing and delays but apparently, it wasn't making them money. (Despite the price!!)
Razer then stayed out of the desktop speaker market till the Levithan. They didn't bother with the sound card market anymore though.

am using swans m10. good balanced sound.
A few years ago received creative inspire t3200 for free... am surprised by the sound and I feel is a good alternative to the swans.
you can get the t3300 for less than $80.
If you have spare $23 i recommend buying memt x5 iem. sounds better than these speakers

Creative T4 wireless 2.1 speaker, you never regret it. Small and powerful. The sound will make you very high feeling and bass also. Can Bluetooth from smart phone also and sound great.
But not much stock in sim lim and online like lazada if I not wrong. I have Z906 Logitech in living room and master bedroom T4 wireless creative.

read there's a potential issue with the t4 auto power off function.
