Hi guys,
Looking to get a 75-85" TV for new house living room. Currently have a 65" Prism so will be quite an upgrade. New living room is bigger so looking at a larger screen. It's not light controlled, but likely will have curtains, so needs to be bright enough and handle moderate glare. I usually watch streaming videos (Prime Video, YouTube, etc), or stream locally from my NAS (currently using Nova Player on my Prism Android TV). I understand Tizen/WebOS don't have native apps that do this so will have to depend on DLNA or an external Android TV Box. Audio is not a concern as I already have a separate 5.1 sound system so as long as it support eARC it's fine. TV will likely be wall mounted.

Budget is about $5000, but flexible to a certain degree. Looking at the following options (with indicative prices)
- TCL C8L 85" ($4999)
- Samsung QN90F Neo QLED 75" ($4899)
- Sony Bravia 7 II 75" ($6099)
- LG C6 75" ($5985)
- Sony Bravia 9 (not Bravia 9 II) 75" ($7045)

From what I've researched, TCL is the most bang for the buck, Samsung has the best matte coating, Bravia 9 has the best panel and processing (but $2K above budget), Bravia 7 II is somewhere in the middle, and LG is OLED so will have the deepest blacks.

Any recommendations, obvious ones from the list I should avoid, or others I should consider?

Thanks!

Thanks. Is this the C6 OLED77C6PSA? Where do you get street prices, and when are the clearances? Do these also apply to other brands and models? Lastly, is this bright enough for a non-light controlled living room?

Just go carousell check, or best is to have a good salesman contact. Usually prices listed on carousell can still nego 500+ off one for 77/83 variants. Clearance usually starts May 2027. Ya I think it does apply to other brands but I’m a LG Oled tv lover.

Erm if your room is bright, I would strongly recommend 77G6. I have 77G5 and 77C2, the C series is like a mirror and only shines in a dark room. If watch at night, 77C6H wins 77G6, but in most conditions, 77G6 wins due to its superior glossy screen but has some special anti reflective coating.

My understanding is that if my room is bright, I should go for mini LEDs rather than OLED, as they are much brighter. A G6 at that size is way above my budget sadly haha.

77G6 should be 6k or something. Trust me the 77G6 no horse run go shop see. Miniled full of blooming and no true blacks, no fight with Tandem Oled second gen.

I would like to stick with major merchants rather than Carousell if possible haha. If I can get it from a legit store for $6K then it'd be an option. Anyway, another question - how does one compare TVs in stores? I understand they set to showroom mode which tunes everything up to 11.

So the sales will be from the shops rather than them personally, just that they will give some special price? If so, then still OK. I searched for LG G6 on Carousell and didn't come up with anything though.

Yes I'm planning to view in the stores to see, but as they're always playing demo videos that are super bright and vibrant, not sure how accurate they are. Thinking that I can perhaps test a few things such as reflection (take torchlight to shine at various angles), look at dark areas to see how black the black goes, look for motion stutter in fast action scenes, and pixelation/artefacts in gradients/skin tones maybe.

Prices can nego one, 77G6 should be around 5.5 - 5.8k or so during 11/11.
Ya best is go shop see yourself. Are you buying for your whole family to watch? Or watch yourself?
If solo watch, nothing beats Vision Pro by Apple. The size of the screen is 6-8 times the size of my 77 inch Oled, super immersive.

Wow, can nego in store until so low? MSRP seems to be $8999.

Sadly I won't be getting on 11.11, probably a few months later. New house not ready yet. Anyway, getting for family, not self.
