Recommendations for a camera

Hi all,

Would like to seek advice.

Previously was using a NEX-3 JP version, until the card reader spoilt. Fixing cost $200. A lot of my students were telling me to buy another NEX.

Some of them recommended a PNS.

Actually, what are the advantages vs a NEX and a PNS.

Also any recommendations for NEX if any?

Slightly Bigger Sensor + Fixed Lens - E.g. XZ-2, LX7, RX100

Compact + Large Sensor + Fixed Lens - E.g. X100S, Nikon A, RX1
Compact + Large Sensor + Interchangeable Lens - E.g. M43, Sony Nex, Fuji X

NEX allows you to change lens depending on what photography you shoot while P&S comes with fixed lens.

Nex is good, moi is using Nex 7.

Im using a Nex 6 myself. However, given that it seems like you travel quite a bit, esp to Japan, you can consider buying a RX100 or even if your budget permits, a RX1 there.

A RX100 would rid you of the hassle of changing lenses, and yet provide very very respectable image quality that is extremely close to that of a Nex 3.

On top of that, a RX100 costs about $730 brand new in Singapore now that the updated version is out in stores for about $900+.
