Depends on your budget. You prefer family room or 2 rooms?

Currently in Osaka & Kyoto. Had wonderful stay at The Gate Hotel (Kyoto) & Fraser Residence Nankai (Osaka).

The Gate is really strategic located. Can reach many places such as Gion, Pontocho, Kyomizu Dera on foot. Fraser Residence is 2 mins walk away from Namba Station where you can take a direct train (Nankai Rapid Express) when departing for Kansai Airport. It's 10 mins walk away from Dotonburi.

We have upgraded both to bigger rooms, The Gate is around 400 sqft while Fraser is around 700 sqft of space.

Just returned from Kyoto and Osaka early Feb.

Stayed in The M kyoto at Kyoto. Location quite near to Kyoto main station. Room size is decent. Paid around $330 for twin room for 3 nights. Room size is 16m2.

Stayed in Vessel Inn Namba for 5 nights. Paid an average of $130 per night. Location is great as it's only 3mins to Dontonburi. Room size is 16m2 but feel it's smaller then The M kyoto.

Personal recommendation is stay in Namba or Shinsaibashi Area instead of Umeda for Osaka.

Take note that Expo is from April to October or Nov so expect hotel prices to soar during this period.

Since your gals are grown ups... My suggestion is to go for 2 double/twin rooms instead of 1 big family room... u will have a lot more options in terms of locations and budget... big family rooms are expensive and hard to come by...

I stayed at Hotel Forza Kyoto Shijio Kawaramachi in Kyoto... and IAM Hotel at Osaka... both have decent size family rooms that are slightly bigger than 30sqm... both locations are excellent in terms of nearby attractions and train stations... can consider if you are going for family rooms...

Depending on budget, renting a small traditional machiya in Kyoto can be quite a nice/different experience.

Royal Park Canvas Nijo for Kyoto. Its literally just across Nijo station and significantly lesser tourists in that area. Nijo castle is a short walk away if you want to visit. Got a very big supermarket nearby that opens till late.

Hi any recommendation for airbnb for family of 5 in Osaka?

Thanks

Depending on budget can consider mimaru. It's an apartment hotel. Advantage over Airbnb, you can drop off luggage ahead of check in time. Multi lingual reception desk.

They are in 5 locations around Osaka.

Those are modern hotels. Why not try a good ryokan instead? Even for 1-2 nights to experience a tatami room with futon instead of western-styled beds.

Depends if you’re visiting USJ. If yes, 6D5N is too short.

And if you’re like me, hunting for cafes/desserts and food, of course it’s not enough. Too little time for so many cafes and restaurants. I’m not even visiting attraction spots. 😅

Osaka to Kyoto is less than 1 hour train ride . U can plan all your accommodation in Osaka and if nothing much to do in osaka . Then go visit Kyoto . ( Can skip nara )
