Hello all,

I need some recommendations for a budget rig ($700-$800).

Mainly will be used for playing Cabal (Able to play w/o lag and able to max all settings), web surfing & watching movie.

I will not be needing wireless adapter(using LAN cable), keyboard , mouse and maybe monitor?

Ermm, I'm total newbie with no DIY experience as all my previous desktops are bought straight out of the box, I'm looking for a shop that provides assembly as well(Not confident in DIY)

Appreciate anyone's input,

TIA-

You just need to bring down the list to tradepac. But do not review the pricing. It is for your own reference.

Ask them for quotation. Once they give you quote, take the reference pricing and see how much it differs.

Bargain lower till the price you are comfortable with. Please be thick face.

If you need OS, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM ~ $110
Win 8.1 64bit OEM ~ $120

I always find it weird that the prices you quote are actually much cheaper than the actual item list in tradepac .
So its bargaining price when you buy a full rig set huh?
Quite misleading for me for a while cause I really tot tradepac cheapest store DIY in SLS for some time.

Tradepac price list is just for show nia...

Bargaining power depends on how much stuff you're buying and/or how much they like your face

Just curious how you estimate the max amount of discount possible. Is there a rule-of-thumb e.g. xx% of total price (known markup profit margin based on TP's pricing strategy, 2.5%, 5%, 10%)?

How to know when the discount we're seeking is too much and unacceptable? I mean seriously as a customer I also don't want to be seen as an unreasonable and difficult lowballer quoting figures even below what the retailers are paying the distributors.

TP is already the lowest in the whole of SLS. Yet to find another one even lower on listed pricing.

Just lowball and quote your desired price after they give you their price, that's how can get closer to cost price. If you see that as unreasonable, then just pay list price.

Do you know that the price list is actually for show purposes?

Do you know that when you go there and actually purchase any components there they will check database and inform you with a lower price than the list?

Do you happen to see that whenever you ask a component that you wanna buy they do not refer to price list? Instead of that they re-search in their database?

Lastly, the prices I quote is where most people would be able to bargain with and most probably around that price. If it differs, it should not go over $5 or more.

Can't go wrong if you bargain well. There is always a room for bargaining. Prices quoted by them is never final. Prices quoted at 2nd time may not be final. Prices last desperate measures to pull you back will be final.

Cant go wrong with me purchasing my stuffs for almost a year ago and helping our dear forumers here to get the price I quoted, at times way below.

This will depends and how you wanna lowball them.

BE THICK SKIN. That's the key to offer your price.

For example of getting a Corsair Obsidian 900D RRP ~ $559

I got it at $430 ;)

And I even dare to lowball at the start $400. That's where the boss straight say "not his cost". He will counter offer you with a different 2nd quote. And that is where he offered $440.

I offer him straight, $430 I take, offer him my nets card.
