Recommendations for laptop for media consumption?

[alphametic]

i currently have a lenovo ideapad U410, and i'd like to get a laptop with a better (sharper, more color-accurate) screen for my mom to watch her korean soaps

• budget <700
• screen size >=13 in, nice to look at for hours
• i don't mind upgrading components myself
• no need impressive processing power, extra features are a bonus
• preferably something available locally
• preferably first-hand

linking up the laptop to a monitor is out of the question. i'm thinking of the ideapad 100s 14in (which isn't great), and am open to other options. is there any out there?

With your budget? No... you will probably want an 15.6 inch screen and full HD and IPS panel. That will cost you. So <$700 is out of the question.
