Hi guys,

I need your help with recommendations regarding a new rig, I need OS and preferably a mechanical keyboard as I like the feel of mechanical keyboards a lot. My budget is 1k-1.2k and I also have an SSD that can be reused. It is an Intel 520 series 120GB SSD.

The main purpose of this rig is for gaming ( mainly dota2 ) and maybe some new games in the future. So the specs need not be so good I guess. Looking at something like gtx750/760 or r9 270x for gpu.

Hopefully , I can get some help and input on this. Thanks a lot!

Edit: I also need a wireless adapter as I am unable to connect via LAN cable.
Edit: Able to reuse hard drive too

asrock h81m-dgs + i5-4460 298
gskillz 8gb 95
win 7 115
fractal design arc midi r2 139
superflower hx 500 88
wd blue 1tb 72
zotac gtx 750Ti 218
or
zotac gtx 760 338

total for gtx 750ti: 1025
total for gtx 760: 1145

If you wish to play newer games other than dota 2, I would suggest going for the gtx 760 though you will need abit more budget for the wireless adapter and your keyboard.

Hi, would getting an R9 280 be better? Since the msi one is only 339 and it seems like in terms of performance, it is slightly better than the GTX 760.

Also, as i will be reusing my ssd and hard drive, is there a way to format the data without booting? Because my current pc is unable to boot up and I have not erased the data in it yet.

r9 280 non X is the same standard as a 760. There are some games or applications that either one would run faster than the other.

Cant boot up I don't think it is entirely on the SSD. Could be other things that causing the PC not to boot properly.

Any way if you are reconsidering to use the SSD just reuse it and reinstall your Windows, during installation they will prompt you where you wanna install your Windows. There will be an option to delete/format the partition.
