Recommendations for ultrabook

I intend to get an ultrabook to replace my old laptop which has battery problems. It is for normal usage of surfing internet, watching youtube videos, music, casual gaming, checking emails, correspondence, presentation etc. I prefer one with long battery life to last at least 10hr if the ultrabook is to be used outside. Budget is $1500. Any suggestions of brand and model? Tks in advance.

Tks for your suggestion. I have been using windows laptops all these years and am considering switching to MacBook. I have shortlisted the following:

1) MacBook Air m1 - it is well below my budget and I don’t need a very powerful computer. Although it was launched 2 yrs ago, I think it will serve my needs although I would prefer more ports and at least 512GB hard disk capacity.

2) MacBook Air m2 - base model. I read that the transfer speed of the SSD is slower than that in M1 model (correct me if I am wrong) and there are suggestions to upgrade to 512GB but this will increase the price to another few hundred dollars.

3) Lenovo yoga s7 pro - would appreciate any feedback on this laptop. Are there any variations to this laptop? Bcos there seems to be models without the pro version. Not sure what is the difference.

I would also appreciate feedback on the Lenovo thinkpad laptops. What is the difference between these range of laptops & the Lenovo yoga range of laptops? I ask bcos there seems to be such ThinkPad laptops within my budget.

How do all these laptops shortlisted compare to asus zenbook which I have been using the past years? I am quite satisfied with zenbook but thought of trying another brand. I am willing to make the switch to MacBook although it will be a steep learning curve for me. Tks in advance.

macbook air is good for sure, but if you are planning to game on it then u can strike it off your list unless the games u play are available on mac, the mac learning curve is quite ok imo. can go apple store and try out first, also its even better if you are using iphone/ipad as its really convenient switching between device, taking calls on your mac, copy and pasting between apple devices.

pretty sure zenbook and thinkpads are quite pricey, thou thinkpad is more towards business professionals. for asus there is the vivobook which is their cheaper model. in the end it boils down to your budget and specs that you require, cos not all brands can fit the specs that you want within your budget, but if there are multiple models that fits your needs and budget, you can compare their monitor panel type, storage, ram, weight, warranty etc. the models i suggested probably can fit your budget with rtx 3050/4050.

Yes, I am using an iPhone and iPad. That is why I am willing to switch to MacBook. I am aware that MacBooks are not really for gaming which is not really my priority. In the end, I have bought 2 MacBook m1 air at Courts. Was able to use some vouchers which helped to bring down the cost. Hopefully, these laptops can last for at least 7 years. Your advice is much appreciated.

I bought the base model MacBook m1 air. Was able to get it at less than $900 bcos I was able to use some vouchers in my purchase.
