Recommendations for upgrade

hi guys, im looking to upgrade my pc since my current rig cant play the latest cod:aw at high settings anymore..

Current:
GPU: asus gtx 560 ti
PSU: fsp aurum gold 500w
RAM: 2x 4gb ddr3
MOBO: gigabyte z68xp-ud3'
processor: intel i5-2400

im guessing gpu is the limitation? or should the processor be changed as well?

budget: probably ~300ish for gpu but open to more exp if significantly better

Might wan to consider 2nd hand 7970 or 280x , within the range of $250-300 and performs like a gtx770

If u have more budget do consider gtx970 which is roughly @ $500 range

i kinda prefer nvidia cards.. since i have only been using them all my life.. unless the 7970 or 280x are really impressive.. can those last me 2 gens of games?
