Recommendations for work laptop

[kdykdy]

Hi guys, I'm interested in getting a new laptop to replace my aging MacBook pro and the current apple's lineup are neither attractive or worth it. Was looking at the Dell XPS 13. My budget is around 2K, and looking for portability along with good processing capabilities. Will require the laptop to be able to run some intensive data modelling and statistical analytics software. I don't game, so graphics need not be a priority.

Any other recommendations out there? Can't seem to find anything noteworthy, besides Asus, but I've read some bad reviews about Asus's customer care here. Another thing that's putting me off the Dell is that the ram is not upgradable and the 16gb version is too expensive for me.

It also depends on your usage.

If you are using MS WORDS with say 20 pages report then it is better to get a 15 inch one. Same if you are doing a large spreadsheet

For MS WORDS 2 pages side-by-side displaying on a 15 inch screen is just nice for viewing. Anything less than that will make the texts too small.

For MS EXCEL having a 15 inch allows the use of more columns/rows to be displayed on the screen
