Hi all,
Title as above.
I need to replace the stock thermal pads on 4 of my Lenovo Units (W510, W520, T410 and T61). Each unit was due for a fan part renewal after their 7.5 working years of lifespan. Most surprisingly, it was only after 6 months of use that the thermal pad started drying up, crackling and disintegrating. So much for China Lenovo products... As a result, the heat doesn't transfer from the heatsink as well anymore and the computers keep crashing easily.
So, I am looking for a solution (albeit a MUCH BETTER ONE) to replace the cheap arse thermal pads.
Please advise me on a thermal paste that:
Also please advise on how thinly the thermal paste should be applied for optimal heat transfer, and the proper ways to apply thermal paste/pitfalls to avoid.

- Long lasting (change once every 5 - 7 years)
- Does not degrade easily when subjected to operating temperatures of 75 to 85 degrees celsius, 18 hours a day, 365 days a year.
