recommended gaming computer hardware?

Hi
Ive been wanting to get a desktop computer for gaming and doing usual stuff, but i dont know how to go about it.
i'm at a loss because im not tech savy. there's things like DIY CPU, buying desktops as a whole, buying seperate computer components, computer components like ram etc (have to buy seperately??) and I have no idea what to buy.
any recommendations for main components like a cpu, monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse??
other than these few what are the other stuff i have to get?
I heard sim lim sq is a good place to get computers.
my budget is about 1k plus++++
