Recommended hotels in ximending

Hi guys, im going to taipei next month for 4d and wife prefers to stay at ximending area.

Any recommendation for hotels less than $100/night? Was browsing and saw hotels like diary of Ximen, Muzik, Airline etc.

Most of the hotels are fine in ximending area, can easily find less than SGD$100, although some popular ones like Cityinn may cost more.

Also, take note for some of the lower-end hotels, usually sound-proofing not so good, and the included breakfast is usually quite a simple spread of bread / porridge or a meal voucher at KFC / Mac.

Did East Dragon do a revamp in recent years? I went in to view the rooms in 2002 or so I think, the rooms were really crappy.

Used to always stay at Wonstar years ago. These days (years) will stay at TS Hotel.

yup agree, east dragon room like some 2* hostel lol
very old furniture etc, if u see from the pic ...
wonstar also abit old

normally would stay ecfa, go sleep, diary of taipei
their hotel usually around 1 to 5 yrs ...

Diary of Taipei is so convenient. Just next to Hsimen MRT exit no. 6

Looking at Via Hotel cos the Westgate hotel is still not available for booking for my end May trip.

I am staying at the new one.. It's nice I got free room upgrade.

staying at muzik hotel next week when I go. they got 2 outlet there. and one new one too

I prefer inhouse hotel. Very cosy and modern feel. Room with Bose speaker, electronic toilet bowl and branded shower n shampoo. Price is reasonable and cheaper compared with amba and cityinn

One thing I don't like about amba is that in some of the rooms, there is lack of privacy because the toilet and shower are in front of the bed separated by just frosted glass door.

inhouse also not bad ...
friend stayed before, about 120sgd per nite for two ...
westgate should be around 150sgd per nite for two

No love for Cityinn Plus? Right outside XMD station on the quieter side and cost me <$110 per night for their elite room. Love the huge bathtub, the service and also the free blu-ray movie archive.

My preferred hotel in xmd is Westgate
Nice clean rooms, and its right next to the exit from the trains; very important in the raining season lol

Its abit pricey though
