Hi everyone,

What would you recommend for desktop mail clients?

Would it be the default Mail app? Or something else?

And why? :)

Was a frequent user of Airmail until they released Airmail 2, I hardly use my MacBook now and didn't quite see the need to purchase the new one. I really like Airmail's user interface though -- minimalistic and has swipe to archive/trash.

AirMail 2.1 (SGD$12)

Another one that you guys could consider would be Postbox. Looks promising and has a free version with no obtrusive advertisements asking you to pay for the software (although it is right for companies to do that but it's really annoying and becomes a real buzzkill)

Postbox (free to try, SGD$15 to buy)

I bring my Mac to work so I'm using Outlook for office emails and Mail for personal emails.

Ive been using the default mail app for quite some time now but i keep reading abt how lousy it is, i think it works fine for my usage.

I did play around with other mail clients once. This is due to either the mail app itself going bonkers on me or the server settings from my hosting provider got screwed up after they migrated their servers and did alot of changes on their side.

I used inky for some time but in the end, decided to use gmail for all of my accts. Gmails filtering is the best ive seen so far.

I think Inky was free the last time i used it, not sure about it now.

Using mailbox on my Mac and iOS devices. Supports only gmail and iCloud email, and can be buggy at times, but supports gmail push with no issues.

How do you all get the default mail app to work with Gmail? It takes like forever to receive Gmail messages.

My iPhone receives it so much faster than my Mac.
