Recommended socks for winter?

Will be heading to the west part of USA.
Bough a pair of "winter" socks from lazada to test but cannot make it.
Looks thick but is worst then an old thin pair of cotton socks.

Any recommended value for money winter socks?

Western usa doesnt really get very cold unless u head to the mountains.

Hiking wool socks are good if u want warm thick socks.
They come in different thickness too.
Smartwool is a good brand.

Uniqlo thicker heattech socks are ok too.
Much cheaper than smartwool.

I am more sensitive to the cold.

I got the uniqlo inner layer and gloves. I will go look at their sock now.
Apparently most of my winter stuff is from them from head to toe

Your shoes will feel tighter.

Suggest you put a heat pack under your feet.

Agree that wool is the way to go. Good insulating properties and odour resistance. Decathlon has some wallet friendly hiking merino wool socks. Darn Tough also sells very good looking merino wool socks.

West side of USA? We have San Diego to Seattle. Yosemite Dec high of 9C avg low of -3C. Low temp usually like 3-4am, not sure anyone up doing things that time. Rainer colder at high of zero C.

if u going somewhere with snow or windy, thick socks with those knitted sneakers not going to help.

Somewhere in-between. A relative of mine said its 3°C. and only wore a jacket.
When I was there in May, 12°C I was bundled in down jacket and still cold! While my relative's child was in a singlet and shorts only. And sometimes require a fan blowing at him! OMG.
If I do travel to snowy area, I would probably get something there.
