I just used Puran File Recovery after trying Undelete 360 and EaseUS
Quick or low level format?
neither..
I accidentally clear that drive when doing diskpart.
after that drive's not detected and in need of formatting.
Diakpart is erase or clean data...but I'm not sure is it consider format.
clean ... after selecting drive
I too not sure leh ...
clean = format ?
it happened to me once... i was using diskpart to create a bootable usb... and i accidentally diskpart the wrong drive.. used the program below and it recovered mostly.. just restore the mbr and it works great.. noticed some corrupted files.. not sure if its caused by the accidental format or degrading Direct Attached Storage.
Corrupted files that you recovered is a result of a fragment or more of the file having been overwritten. The moment the disk is cleaned/wiped, it means the disk had its tag erased such as NTFS or FAT32. So the drive become unrecognisable especially if the erase procedure is super quick. Similarly, format just erases and replaces the tag on top but as long as your drive is a spinning drive, the fragments will still not be overwritten unless you try copying a file into it thus causing corrupted files when recovering.
Btw, you did not say which program you used that was able to restore your disk back.
was it external.drive? my externaldrives.always become raw
Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT
U can try testdisk which can recover the whole partition
seagate hard drive.. better change hard drive soon. =)
ya ... seagate 2TB
wah ... is it safe to install OS then do partition or just go buy new HD?
Infect I already install win7, do partition using 'Disk Management' and soon try to recover files later on ...
do not ever write or install anything on that drive you intend to recover. by doing so, you are making it harder to recover the files. use another drive to bootup and recover the files. testdisk is another program to recover but it is non gui. its in command prompt window.. one mistake you loose everything.
to check the health of the harddisk you can use crystal disk info. don always need to buy new one. it might still be functioning.. it could be your data cable.
testdisk?
its a software on itself or apart from diskpart dos command?
