Hi all! Hope 2016's going good for everyone so far.

The problem started when last week. i boot up my pc for like 10mins and was playing a youtube video when the screen froze in place and there was a short burst of static sound over the speakers( like a split sec). Left it alone for 10mins no change i did a hard reset. It would try to reboot itself for like 5secs before shutting itself down and trying again. The cycle would repeat for 20 over times before i gave up on waiting and started to trouble shoot.

The error code would be 'b8' or '68' on the mobo display. Or a cycle of '01','b8','02'. These dont mean anything in the manual and nothing much found online.

Trouble shooting.
1) Dismantle everything and reconnect everything. Sata/power/connector pins.
2) Test the ram by trying out stick by stick on each dimm slot.
3) changing the mobo batt.
4)clearing CMOS
5) trying to boot w/o and drives.
All didnt work.

It would sometimes post and then say its booting in safe mode. But then shut itself down( maybe once in 50 attempts)

I once got into the bios. Reset everything to default and checked the timing.

All this did not work and the prob with booting is still there.

I left it overnight unplugged from the power socket and next morning it booted up fine. I was happy but worried cos i didnt figure out wat was wrong. Used it for about a week and it happened again today.

This time the screen froze and the static sound was heard again during a game and the system had booted up about 3hrs before.

I dont have parts (psu/spare ram/ cpu+mobo) to swap things around to determine what's faulty. And my parts are all out of warranty.

I repeated my troubleshooting and will see what it's like tmr but would love to hear from you guys what else I can try or what might be the problem.

Thanks a bunch!

seems like over heating issue, could be either your CPU or GPU overheat
maybe you can try to change the thermal paste of the cpu
can also try using with your gpu unplugged
also can try stress test your pc
