He have a Poly Dip (Mech) too & he claim that that is the only engineering course that accept colorblind student during his time.

I believe he is colorblind because he relied on us to tell him the color of wires before connection for project in workplace.

By the way, I am 2G SAF & he is older then me...
I doubt he is colourblind.

CDO such dangerous vocation won't accept one.

You can simply check this by going to SAF Career page and seeing their requirements.

SCDF and SPF don't accept colourblind personnel.

Air Force and Navy also don't accept colourblind personnel.

Going by SPF's requirements, it is fair to assume that MP and RP don't accept colourblind personnel.

All my colourblind friends get placed into infantry, medic and storeman.

The rest are just my assumption as I've not seen a colourblind person there.

Aiming for storeman! Book out meet client tan lui so can cover some Uni expenses. If I'm not wrong self employed is okay, but drawing pay from an employer is not. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I don't wish to end up in DB

As far as I know, as long as you get permission from your supervisor, you can work outside on your weekends. Although it is really rare that they will allow it.

Of course, self employed is acceptable. I was registered as a tutor under snapask during my 2 years in NS, I asked my Course Manager, and he said it was fine, as long as it does not impact your performance,eg.staying up late to answer students' questions

How come the replies all not consistent in the vocation suitable for red-green deficiency NS personnel.

I myself is a red-green too. I'm PES A and AI vocation with restricted M113 driving licence. Other than AI, Infantry and Guards have red-green personnel. Other vocations likely don't have color deficiency personnel.

Commando and Divers accept personnel with mild short sightness but not color deficiency.

Cause this was never meant to be an official platform to get the answer required.

Regardless if you are working part time, freelance or your own organization, you are not allow to do so unless it is approved by your commander.

Why people claim that part time jobs like tutor teacher is allow is because in the first place it is not consider part time but freelance job. You only get cash without CPF, so government may not be able to detect from CPF & IRAS.

If you are holding a part time job, you will be consider an employee and both you & employer needs to pay CPF as long as your earning is $500. Then it become questionable why NSF has a job with CPF when he should be serving full time. MOM will investigate if you are a shadow worker (Singaporean or PR park name in company in order to create quota to hire foreigners). So your unit will be involve & needs to answer to their commander why are you moonlighting, is there any conflict of interest, unit have no job & training for you until you so free can do work outside & etc.

I believe my ex-colleague is colorblind.

My friend who is ex-Regular only discover when he have night blindness when he was doing night duties for few nights before he declared to his commanders. By right, he should not even drive a car but at the end still serve & drive in daytime for 5 years.

Then when I go back for reservist, I was brief about a NSF clerk that have medical problem & will suddenly fall to the ground & have fit. That why he have been thrown from a lot of units before he land up at my unit. But SAF still find him fit to serve. Sound drama & never believe it until I see it with my own eyes right in front of me.

So a lot of things that by right should not be happening but I have serve long enough to see 'funny' things in SAF.
