I will go for comfort.Because u just walk around a little bit and u felt a little snug already. My experience was after longer period of walking then u will really feel the pain at the side. But u r wearing thick socks at that time.So u may want to think about if u be wearing thick socks most of the time and u be able to take the pain while your shoe take some time to really break in.

As for look wise. The E is slightly wider definitely but not to an extend that it look bulky.I think there are many "E"s around as well.If u get a D and if it expand at the side it may look like an E also.

So just my 2cents and its up to u if u willing to bear the pain and sacrifice comfort for looks. imo i think taking care of your feet is more important..

To Senocs:

Definitely the D width. Snug is the way you should feel when getting the 875. You're not so suppose to feel comfortable when putting on a new 875, your heels should feel a little discomfort when you're walking. Hence, the recommendation of wearing thick socks.

It would mold to your feet after the breaking in period, rest assured. :)

Normally asians do not need the E width. I have larger size friends wearing D width and after breaking in, no complaints about discomfort.
It wouldnt be wise to get a loose and comfortable fitting at first, that's the way redwings are made.

Uh hey, is it normal for RW boots to look huge during the first few wearing? I got my measurement done at Suntec, feet US7, and tried out the 9011 (US7), it fits alright I guess, quite a space at the toe area (I was wearing thin socks)

My question is, would the boots look slightly smaller after breaking in and such? Like how after the boot mold to the feet kinda thing...

Yes... Friend got a 9111, said it shrink slightly after a few months of wearing or so... Leather aren't suppose to shrink right? It's either he's imagining it or it ain't authentic RW, that's why I asked that question...

i think what he was experiencing is the leather turn softer and molding to his feet.

initially the leather will be stiff and rigid. laces will be tight and almost impossible to lace it completely tight.

but as time goes and after wearing for a period of time, the leather becomes softer (due to regular use and flexing at certain joints), and lacing can be tighter as compared to first few wears. so maybe that somehow caused the "illusion" of the shoes becomes "smaller"

Hey all, I have recently purchased a pair of Red Wing Shoes..
It's the 8138 and is there any pro here that can give any advise or notes about this model of Red Wing Shoes?

I have some question regarding the care of Red Wing Shoes too,
Today is the first day I broke into these pair of boots and I can say that the size really fits me PERFECTLY, I got these from the Suntec store and I don't feel much pain at any part instead, it really feels great with some crease by the side breaking in.

Now regarding the question, I know that the box has some tips on how to take care of the shoe saying Mink Oil it and etc, or wiping the excess dust off the shoes after wearing. So do I use a normal toothbrush?(bristle brush) to just scrub it? In a circular motion/vertically/horizontally? Or what way? I am afraid I would damage the shoes or is that any way I can remove the excess dirt n dust not from brushes? Say tissue paper? Wet cloth? Dry cloth?

EDIT: Also to keep the Red Wing Shoes in shoe rack better or an open area? Will it grow mould if I keep it in a dark space? I once had a organic leather shoe growing moulds..

Advise please, thank you :)

Red wing noob here

Hi mi new to Redwing, wanna seek experts advice here.

Is the group buy prices at Gmarket a good deal?

http: // list.gmarket. com.sg/gmkt.inc/Goods/Goods.aspx?goodscode405209217Handbags / Shoes - [Today Special] RED WING shoes boots / redwing boo...

Hi.. I am a Red Wing noob myself.
But I can tell you for sure, I doubt that those Red Wing Shoes are authentic.. You can look at its pricing.. If they were to sell genuine Red Wing Shoes at that price, how would they earn? It's leather are made of good material built to last. I thought of purchasing from a ebay shoe retailer and it even cost more than what Gmarket sells, Gmarket sells for only 70SGD..

Another thing.. Look at it's feedback and response to the seller. They says the color is abit off from the picture and from the picture, you can see that the Red Wing Shoes Box isn't even the authentic kind.. How can it be real even if they say they got from cheap suppliers..?

Just my opinion... You can deem otherwise.. Not looking for a fight or anything... sry if I offend anyone or said anything wrong
