Just wanted to share my buying experience. Went down to Suntec originally looking for shoe trees for my business shoes, happen to walk in the Red Wing store. 2 lady's actually approach and shared with me and my wife regarding the DBS 30%+10% promo for the ladies range. I was actually looking for deck shoes but have always wanted a Moc-toe. Highlighting this to the staff, they still continued to serve even though we said that we are only window shopping. The service was excellent and I guess pictures speak a thousand words( Pics below). By the way, the 2 lady's names are Wendy and Jannelle. We also got a red wing keychain as a free gift and a plastic shoe spoon thingy.

They came in nice paperbacks.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. I will update with actual fit pics. I intend to wear it with jeans, khakis and bermudas, wife would probably wear her pecos with jeans, dress and maybe shorts. Stay tuned..

thanks for the compliments, the leather really looks nice.

lazybones, yup , they were free. can choose black or brown. I chose brown as the color is nicer and the black one was smaller.

kazuki, the color didn't change much but the leather became somewhat softer and malleable. it also got rid of some fo the imperfection like minor scratches and blemishes.

I will only get to wear them this weekend as i am normally in my business shoes for work on weekdays. I am so looking forward to give them a go.

If i managed to get 875 in hk, then i get to rest 8165 on wkends and rotate to 875 :)

no prob..
I'm not sure why need to suntan but I read from some other forum that it's part of the process before wearing. I presume it's for the excess oil that was not absorbed by the leather to dry up.. oh well...

no, it's correct... too much direct sunlight will cause leather to fade

a bit correct, since leather is treated animal skin... allow absorption and drying

Nice pick up for your wife and yourself. Loving the boots for your lady. Nice pictures, great shoehorn and key ring there. Although personally I don't think there's a need to oil them out of the box before wear, but always good to get some sun.

Enjoy your wings!

Bro cajun22, nice buy. So ur 875 is retail price while ur wife is 30+10%? Further tempting me to get a pair of 3410 chukka.

Btw...are u the same person that used to work in HN? Sorry if I remember mistaken ur Nick for someone else.

karyac, thanks for the information

xdxier, sorry bro, will be keeping the key chain. i'm not sure if they sell it separately. forgot to ask but the quality of the key chain is good. The leather used is the same as the 875, I think it's called oro-iginal leather

nicol, thanks for the compliment, my wife is happy that I got it for her! btw, I read that oiling it prior to wearing is for waterproofing it as well...

jonleelk- yes bro, this is andy formerly from HN, have since left to join the banking world and now after 5 years back to consumer electronic with a jap company. I know , I know , it's been a long time. The banking life basically took all my free time away so I became a lurker in HWZ and xtremplace, hehe.. btw , u r right , 875 full retail and wife's boots 30+10 but the sizes are limited though. Originally , she wanted the tan color but no size so we took the briar oil slick which is also excellent.

for those who are lost in the short blurp above, I used to be an active poster about 10 years ago but have since "retired". Nowadays using HWZ maily for info getting, heck , the last time I upgraded my comp was 5-6 years ago!

I miss my clan days in quake man.... now become uncle oredi... sigh.
