may i know the reason for avoiding mink?

I may be wrong, so please correct me if im wrong and pardon me.

Well i read that mink oil is fatty acid and it makes the leather softer by loosening up its fibre, making it less durable. It also makes leather "waterproof" by blocking the pores, which is not desirable.

Also, read an info somewhere that the tannery spent lot of time getting the oil out of the leather so its hard to understand why people are putting the oil back

Just what i gathered over the web and im no expert to judge what is good or not :)

For people who are interested in getting obenaufs.
I have some limited ready stocks with me, leave me a PM if keen.

They are 8 oz. heavy duty LP obenaufs mainly for boots and leather goods.

wear it for a month or so before putting LP or mink oil.

let the crease form first. and also, the leather should be treated well in the tannery already. no need to replenish its "nutrients" so fast :)

also, its a tough shoe. no need to baby it.. just rock 'em and thrash it hard! then it will show its beauty more... :)
