Erm...So I can ignore this statement? 'Red Wing Shoes ships to US and Canada only'
wear long socks. I wore ankle socks on Day 1, my skin peel and super pain. And ever since then, long socks ftw
Hi guys, Red Wing newbie here. I just got my first Red Wing shoes around 2 days ago. Mine is 1907 and it actually fit just fine, until I tried to walk with it and turns out this shoes is the most painful shoes I ever owned. It actually peeled the skin in the back of my feet.
Is this normal for 'break in' part or what? is there anyway to help me speed up this process? I even considered to sell it later![]()
Yeah, I actually didn't want to sell it. I worked my way to buy this nice shoes. I'll try to get through this first month and see how it goes.that would be the worst choice you will ever make selling it. it's normal la, wear long socks, might hurt for first few wear, after that its fine. as for speed up, i'm not too sure.

anyway, I got this "trick" to break in new boots. what do you guys think about this?
"A process that has been used previously but fallen out of favor recently is soaking the boots in warm water and wearing them for several hours consecutively. Because the leather is wet it begins to conform to the structure of your sole/foot, eventually forming an excellent glove like fit. This method is really only effective if you have the opportunity to walk around (preferably outdoors) for several hours in wet boots. Also, it is extremely important that applications of Mink-Oil or another leather conditioner are used frequently, this will extend the life of your boots exponentially."
I guess yes. Mine is size 8, and I did tried the size 9 but difference is just way too big. I also tried my friend's shoes which is also size8 but different model and it feels fine.
Maybe it's because the materials of 1907, which is quite stiff. But I don't know. See how it goes for this first month, I'll wear it again after once my feet recover.
