spending a small amt of money to take care of ur bigger asset is more worthwhile man.

Not everyone wants to spend $35 for a shoe care dude.

Anyway, you can get it cheaper from the obenauf US website itself. You need to use a freight forwarder.

i think there has been a misunderstanding. I was just curious if there were any cheaper alternatives. I mean buying a 400plus shoe doesnt mean I necessarily need to splurge on anything else that complements it, one should still be thrifty and look at ways to save. Only by saving, can you then allow yourself to afford more products.

Not everyone wants to spend $35 for a shoe care dude.

Thanks Haris, I checked out that Obenauf. But I think it will be quite costly if theres no free shipping within US for the goods. Then adding on to shipping to sg.

any idea if warranty covers for this? I just bought my RW 2 weeks ago and the thread has already broken.



I just wore it out again today, and the broken thread has slipped out one of the holes.

EDIT: I went down to the store today, changed my RW no questions asked! but the new RW they gave me was much darker than my original.

guys i bought my red wings 875 2 weeks ago, and i noticed that the front part of it is quite dark. Is there a way to make the front part same colour as the other parts?

Should i apply mink oil on the other parts of the boot and avoid the front part?

I'm not sure, but my advice to u is to always buy from a place with warranty especially for such an expensive pair of boots. The last thing u want to happen is when it spoils or breaks, u can't claim. My first 875 stitching broke within 2 weeks. Extremely thankful I bought it from suntec city RW shop.

Hmm... my first pair was also quite dark at certain spots. I guess its natural. Not sure if your suggested method will work. But I don't use mink oil, I bought obernauf LP, after seeing so many forumers recommending it. Even then, obernauf will also darken the boots.

Hi skyblood! I went Taiwan recently and purchased a pair of 8890 @ $423. Retail $438 in Singapore. Lol.
One sad thing is the Red Wing Shop is not covered under Tax refund if not I'm able to take back at least $21. Haha.

Red Wings price won't plus/minus too much. But if you're intending to buy a pair there in Hong Kong, you might want to find a departmental store which is covered by tax refund for tourists. You'll save abit from here.
