Red Wing shoe Thread

hi guys. my sis just help me to buy a red wings 8111 from hk. been wearing it for 2 weeks and noticed that the color starts fading and forms patches of brown instead of the reddish brown. anyone experience the same thing as me? and how do i check if its an authentic piece??

Apply too much. Wait at least half a day then wipe down with damp cloth. If still got spots just accept it. with wear the spots will disappear. remember, one fingertip for one palm sized area don't need so much oil one.

I use mink oil because I don't really care haha. Can keep my IRs for 5 years good enough liow not planning to resole like for lifetime.

Revolveclothing. Some forumers mentioned it before. I personally never bought from there.

But IMO, buying from the store is still the best. Because, you get the warranty and no hassle of all that trouble with shipping back and forth.
I used my warranty 2 weeks after I bought my shoe from the store because the stitching broke.

Mink oil will darken your boots. Thats a given. I remember someone mentioning before that no matter what oil you use, your boots will darken. And I believe thats true, even when I use obernauf, it will darken initially and then slowly become lighter after being exposed to the elements when wearing.

Wrong! Only some still made in USA.
Those 877 and 875 still in USA.
All is a strong word. Lol

eBay always a risk
Which is why I rather do factory seconds, don't see the reason to fake a inferior product and seller is near red wing factory

so far, I have gotten shoes from Amazon and shoebuy, previously got cultizm but they stopped shipping to SG

yeah, didnt get it. plan to get it locally but coudlnt find shop with size 8.5 :s12:

Better not to wear new shoes for travel that involves lots of walking. Break in can be a biiitch.
