Red Wing shoe Thread

Hey guys, don't know if this has been shared before. But what a find I made today at JB.

I was just walking around with my friends at City Sq Mall (5 min walk from customs). And I saw this really hip looking shop with a lot of footwear. The name of the shop is Crossover.

So I went in and looked around. And I stumbled into the a RW shop/section! It is right at the back of the shop. I don't think you'll notice it if you are walking by or looking from the outside. They have a huge range of RW displayed. They also have Dr Martens Made in England boots in the same section. It looks like the OG shop. Industrial loft feel.

I was surprised, because I wasn't expecting a RW shop in City Sq Mall! I thought I should just buy the cleaning stuff there, hoping that it will be cheaper. Too bad they don't have the leather conditioner. They have mink oil. Did not check the price though. Had a short chat with the RW guy and told him what I just bought from the US and compared prices with him. He asked me why don't I get the cleaning stuff from SG. I told him that I think SG prices are inflated (just a guess). The Beckmans (3 of them) were sitting there in all their glory. So beautiful. I will definitely buy that next year.

For you guys who want to buy from a physical shop, and get "expert advice", this can be an alternative for you. And if RW is not your cup of tea, they also have a wide range of Dr Martens, sneakers high and low tops (Vans, Reebok, etc), herschel bags (little America 360+rm before 20% discount) and caps (Publish, HUF, etc). Not super cheap, but cheaper than SG I think.

IIRC,
Iron Ranger - 1056 RM
Beckman - 1200-1300 RM
875 with logo - did not check price
1907 - no stock

I seems like it's around $50 cheaper than SG price. You can use that $50 saved to go watch a movie, eat lunch and dinner, drink coffee, eat deserts and pay for your transport in and out. Totally worth it.

Exchange rate today is 2.62 = 1.

Hi guys, I've just received my Red wing 1907. Not too sure if this stain is causes by the black shoe lace that comes with it or something else, but anyone has any similar issue or solution that able to remedy this? Is somewhat a black line across the front of the boot, try cleaning with cloth and warm water doesn't work.

I think that line is not normal in 1907... I dun think it is possible to remove it... Black stains are abrashion marks which are normal when u start wearing...

A piece of advice, do not wear them with raw denim.... Unless u want dark stains at the sides of your boots...

Where did u get it from? Both side got same problem?

I only saw a female staff inside the counter.. nobody else. ya the orcahrd gateway red wings , beside the shop also got another shop selling RW .. but very limited choices

I bought this pair of 1907 off Amazon and I just received it yesterday.
Is this normal or it just leather that is dried up? The other boot is fine.

Creasing looks quite bad. Is that brand new? If the creases came from being worn a few times I could understand it. But if it came like that I'd be worried. Perhaps put in some shoe trees to see if it could shape up the sides a bit and prevent it from further collapsing in

No idea when i received it seem no have such mark or it does, but i remember removing a black lace from the shoe it come with. Okay thanks for the tips but don't think i'm wearing raw denim with it.

I got it from Shoes.com only 1 side has this marking and it has 1 straight black line from 1 end to another until the top curve area

Yeah its brand new, everything that came with it is in satisfactory condition i.e. clean sole and a pair of nice looking insoles

Oh well I guess I'll live with it as the pair of boots looks gorgeous!

dun worry.... usually 1907 comes with creases... it's made to look worn out...

Thought she stationed outside the counter there and not in the counter.

My hoot 1907 arrive today, but sadly doesnt really fit me well, i thought the sizing was the same as 8131, got the wrong size now. It is like 2 finger spacing at the heel when i push my feet all the way forward to the front

Any expert can advise on this? Sell or got anyway to salvage this situation?

Get a sole or something to make the spacing tighter i guess, so what size you gotten and what your usual shoe size.

Or either sell or send back Amazon for refund if you don't mind.

Any fast way to check is your RW shoe real one or not ?

Today at RW shop and one of the customers was trying a pair of RW boot. He was also wearing a RW boot brought from ebay and one eye from the SA there that his one is fake one...........................

all along i like iron ranger, till i saw it in real life . the boots is too big for my size i think . chukka seems nice. Iron range size 7 look like those size 12 shoe size ... even my fren she said "wahh y so big" lol.
