my 1907 only 6mths of 4 to 5 wears a week... still not going for resole yet...

I heard from the guy at RW orchard, some people complain of bad workmanship form shukey. Don't feel like resole, but if not will eat into the base layer.

i dun think will be all cases got bad workmanship ba... another option is to pay to ship to US lo...

another interesting place to repair is if u happen to fly to taiwan, this shop does wonders...

I'm got 1907 instead and now 8111... can try get online when got sales to save...

I prefer something more brighter like 875.Different folks different strokes.Of course I'm looking at around <SGD$250 with shipping when there's deals

guys, interested in getting a pair or redwing. but unsure of which model to get and where to get for the best price.

prefer a natural color which would go well with dark coloured jeans and light coloured khaki pants. prefer material which is easy to maintain. high cut looks cool.

The foreign oxford looks really nice.. but i already have a pair of chukka already.

most likely get a moc toe oxford.

where should i look for in hk?

Becareful when you buy in hk. Heard stories that got one bro buy from HK and bring back to the old suntec red wing shop, the boss said its fake

go straight to their retail store to be safe. I went there 4 yrs ago, VERY ULU and hard to find...
But once u are inside, can see many other fellow collectors de.

where is that? do you know the address? Actually I just came back from HK, the prices are not so attractive to splash the cash there. Because of the currency exchange

If you are talking about overseas as in physical stores, I believe HK stores should be the cheapest in the region. Avoid Japan unless you are looking for exotic designs. Taiwan is a good place after Japan if you are looking for good selection of boots too.

As for locally, I strongly recommend you go straight to OGW to speak to the sales there and understand how it goes. Don't be shy, they can teach you alot about the boots and very happy to entertain you even if you don't get anything, as least I think I was served with good attitude and knowledge.

Me, sold my 875 off thou... Apart from colour and texture, it's the fine details like double stitching on the soles of 1907 and the double welt that sets 1907 and 875 apart... While 875 is more stain resistant than 1907 as it's oil tan vs dry tan... uniform colour 875 vs 2 tone colour 1907.

As for maintenance, for 875 I need to oil with my palm + wipe away excess oil after 8 hours then buff. While for 1907 I got to brush away the dirt with suede brush then use leather cleaner for stubborn stains then spray leather protector and finally wait for it to dry....

875 is brighter colour than 1907, while 1907 gives you an aged look...

yeahh i trash most of my stuff.. hahaha . but then again, msotly would only wear on weekend . my leather working shoe trash liao become ugly, cos the leather scab off abit liao
