hi, I'm in a dilenma.

Should I go for Redmi Note 7 or top up for Samsung A50? I only watch some videos, play some light games, etc.

Note 7: Cheap, display good except under direct sunlight and MIUI is kind of buggy and bloated sometimes. Camera also not bad?

A50 has better cpu, display and sound quality than Note 7 but it also has overheating and battery problems in some sets(found from Samsung Europe forums, Amazon India, some reviews). It seems One UI has problems that cause lag and maybe heat/battery problems?

Basically, I saw some people's posts about A50 having problems, panicked and went to investigate. Then I thought maybe get Redmi note 7 if A50 have too many problems.

Depends on whether you're talking about export or local Redmi Note 7. If local Redmi Note 7, I would rather u get A50 for a bit more $. But if don't mind export set, I'll take the Redmi Note 7 because it's $150+ difference from the A50.

I'll personally opt for the A50 because my preference is AMOLED > LCD.

If you watch videos alot, I would suggest getting the A50. This is because of the Super AMOLED screen which makes colours better.

Both are comparable. But A50 has a better screen.

Hi you mean redmi note 7: buy from new star or finder?

I've little experience with flashing global rom and I've heard the Google apps are more stable on global.

Wonder how warranty works with export 'cos my Chinese no good. I'm slowly relearning but will take years.

Btw, went into Samsung Experience store at Jurong earlier, was told A50 out of stock, they're never bringing it in again. Nice try imitating Xiaomi, Samsung! (They were probably trying to get me to buy A70 or their flagship series.)

Videos? Only sometimes. I will quickly think and make a decision.

i am comparing redmi note 7 to A30.
both are about the same price range for note 7 (export set) and a30 (local set).

advantage for a30 is that will have 1 year warranty.

Get Samsung A50. Its got better screen, decent camera (including ultrawide), good battery life compared to Redmi Note 7.

For export set, try and find those already flashed with official global if you do not know how to.

Expect no warranty support for export set even though seller might claim "1 year seller warranty". Don't have too much hope on that.

As for A30, I recommend buying from street shop Eg. RedWhite, kasia, mobilesquare as they sell it cheaper for only $260 compared to Samsung $298.
