yesterday went down Mi store to check out the status of Note7, salesman said around Apr-May.

One thing i note is that Mi8 lite can be comparable to Note7, both SD660, just that Mi8 has no headphone jack. Both phones no NFC. What you guys think of Mi8 lite vs Note7?

Mi8 lite default 128gb and lighter weight lol, anyway on YouTube some say Mi8 lite cam is better but maybe what we get here might be note 7 pro instead of note 7 which means better Sony sensor over samsuck.

No point get Mi8 lite nao if waiting get N7.

China rom no play store. Global rom has play store. Better to wait for local version, at least got local warranty.

But low chance Singapore Mi may provide the 18mths warranty as what Lei Jun gave China side bah...

The dates by them hor, take with a pinch of salt. At times not very accurate wan. If you not urgent to get, then wait nvm.

Better price also. The pricing when launch was very near to the China price during that period.

Ya, agree lor. And I feel it was more in line with the marketing strategy of Xiaomi when it first started. Reduce unnecessary cost, no shopfront, no fancy marketing. But slowly it becomes like now have 11 Mi shops for a small city country Singapore... So there goes the lower pricing strategy too. :(

Not so much anymore since now xiaomi is a listed company the more I see Redmi strategy the more I can confirm it’s there to push up the selling pricing and also class status of Xiaomi product.

Redmi main market is China and India, unless price diff is neg if if it’s significantly more expensive from mi Sg then just buy direct from China or pi.

Or go over the causeway to buy cos in Sg they are just trying to upsell their product for extra profit to cover for other country losses.

I support Xiaomi and Redmi but not mi Sg

Agree too. Because Mi8 lite has no FM Radio, Note7 do have. Mi8 Lite also is hybrid dual SIM, which is not good. Heard that Note7 is using dual sim expandable memory?

If going the marketing strategy is same as Pocophone F1, the Redmi Note 7 could be available a week after in SG being the earliest.

Redmi Note 7 uses the 3-choose-2 card tray, same as the Mi 8 Lite.

Xiaomi's current strategy for the global market is to target the masses and also introduce its ecosystem product lineup to the mass. Xiaomi's future market is the AIoT segment, and the ecosystem lineup plays an essential and important role.

By having offline retail presence, Xiaomi is able to target the masses easily. Also, by having a variety of products in the store, customers that intend to get a certain product may be enticed on getting other products too, considering the great value of Xiaomi products.

Is 6/64gb around 300 considered cheap?

Maybe I ask my friend to pick up from China for me.

Official date Feb 28, firm date. Maybe Sin launch is 7 March. 3 more weeks. Unless phone spoilt/lost, can wait a bit.
TB 3/32 is Y1200 or ~S$240. 4/64 is 1400 or S$280 while 6/64 is 1550 or S$300.
Seems like Feb no new news on Pro7 & X.

Qoo10 now selling $218 for 3gb/32gb, but China Rom, do take note, now Mi phone with China Rom can no longer FLASH GLOBAL ROM, IT WILL BRICK THE PHONE. So unless you can live without Google Play, otherwise wait for global rom/ local set.
