Took quite a while, ordered on 24th Dec, reached me on the 6th Jan. But in between there's 2 public holidays so that's probably why it took a little longer.

For Redmi Note line, 128GB not as critical since there's SD card slot. Also the reason why I went for 64GB version since I already have a 128GB microSD card that I can use in the phone.

If we are talking about the Mi line of phones, like Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Mi Note 10 etc all without SD slot, then it makes sense to go for the 128GB.

Now I put it in airplane mode at night before going to sleep. No battery drain this way, since I currently put my TPG SIM in it. Main line still in my Pocophone. Got Redmi Note 8 Pro for the NFC. Pity don’t have Redmi Note 8T local set, else that is sufficient for me liao. :s22:

Now Xiaomi Official Store Global on Shopee has CNY sale for Redmi Note 8 and 128GB is only $239.

The warranty is confirmed local by SG service centre right?

Between a xiaomi note 8 (China and SG version), is there a difference? Asking because I had the chance to test both and it appears that those location reporting apps appear to be more accurate when used locally with local version of note 8

if i get the 256/8 from china, can kp flash it to global rom?
bootloader if left unlock, will i still b able to use nfc ezlink/banking apps or even otp msg?

Mine is a Redmi note 8 pro 128/8 china set. Yes you can flash it to global rom easily after the bootloader is unlock. You can use nfc, ezlink/banking apps & otp msg without any problem BUT google pay won't work if your bootloader is unlock. :(
