According to new reports, Xiaomi is preparing to release the Redmi Note 12 Turbo only in China. However, the handset could also arrive in other markets as the POCO X5 GT, the third device in the POCO X5 series after the POCO X5 5G and POCO X5 Pro 5G.

Android Smartphone Leaks / Rumors
Xiaomiui claims to have discovered new information about the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which also may come to market as the Redmi Note 12 Pro. To recap, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo was most recently seen at the 3C in China with 67 W fast charging. While the regulatory body does not refer to the handset by its market name, IMEI databases have previously linked the model number 23049RAD8C to 'Redmi Note 12 Turbo'.

Subsequently, Xiaomiui has found references to 23049PCD8I and 23049PCD8G, apparent Indian and Global versions of 23049RAD8C. For reference, 'PC' in the pair's model numbers indicates that Xiaomi will release them under its POCO sub-brand, which IMEI database results reinforce. Purportedly, Xiaomi will sell the 23049PCD8I and 23049PCD8G as the POCO X5 GT, replacing the popular POCO X4 GT.

The IMEI databases have not revealed any specifics about the Redmi Note 12 Turbo or the POCO X5 GT. However, the model numbers suggest that Xiaomi will unveil the smartphones in April, two months before the first anniversary of the POCO X4 GT and a more before the equivalent for the Redmi Note 11T Pro. Xiaomiui adds that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and POCO X5 GT should also launch with MIUI 14, matching the POCO X5 Pro 5G. Based on earlier leaks, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo could feature a 120 Hz display and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 too, among other features.
