I tried to google but I don't find a redmi pad in China. This tablet is purely for international market? I am trying to understand if the current sellers (online shopping platform like shopee) are selling global version or china version. Advertisement all said global version and warranty by Xiaomi Singapore. Yet the physical store do not have the tablet yet.

I chatted with Xiaomi Singapore via the chatline. As usual they will ask us to buy from their official store and asked me to wait until they launch it.

But all the platform sellers I communicated claimed to be warranted by XM Spore. Really dunno who to believe. I believe those sets are from India (or Msia?).

Not sure why would anyone pay so much for this crap tablet rather than paying only $80 more for the mi pad 5.

This tablet in comparison has:
1. Crappy mediatek 'midrange' chipset
2. Horrible GPU
3. Slower ufs 2.2
4. Only accelerometer sensor. No gyro, proximity and compass sensors
5. Slow 18w charging
6. 90hz refresh rate

The only thing better than mi pad 5 is that, at least xm has the intelligence to put a microsd card slot in this one.

Indeed. Btw, street price for xiaomi pad 5 is $418. So yes, price gap is small

I owned two Mipad4 but did not buy 5 due to missing option of external storage slot. I ordered Redmi Pad to try it out. Prefer the 'promise' of three years of security update.

Just gotten the tablet.

First impression on the physical unit. Very long and rectangular. Physical shape wise i think Mipad5 looked more portional.

The box listed the unit as Made in China. I was expecting Made in India because this unit is a global unit. Just happy with anything that is not from India.

The screen and color looked abit flat. Mipad5 definitely looked sharper. This tablet is not for folks who demand better quality screen.

Just charging. Share more later.

Second impression of the Redmi Tablet.

Bloatware. WPS Office, Genshin Impact and Netflix. To me these are bloatware. There were some Google and Xiaomi Apps but I deem them are standard.

Tested youtube video to see how the display and audio. Both are acceptable to me. I mainly bought this tablet for the four speakers. Met my basic required. I could play 1080p and 2160p video. However my wifi strength was weak (too far from router) and thus 2160p video not smooth. I pass them as acceptable.

For $349 I find the tablet acceptable. Not a die die must buy item.

Third impression of the Redmi Tablet.

Took out my Mipad4 Plus to compare to the Redmi Tablet. Plus is already big but Redmi Tablet is 8% to 10% larger.

Played the same youtube video on both device. Audio wise, Redmi wins with it's four speaker. Video quality wise, Redmi is on par with M4P. Mipad4 is already a very good tablet during it's time. Happy that Redmi can match it. Still Redmi video quality cannot beat Mipad 5 (based on what I can see from the demo unit at Xiaomi Store). Until today my very old Samsung Tab S first version still wow me with the screen quality. It may be a 720p screen but the color is so vibrant. Mipad 4 also could not match it. Only Ipad Mini could match Tab S (which I also owned last time).

This device is fulfilling my basic desire to have an updated android version, four speakers, mSD slot and promise of 3 years support (i really hope they keep their promise). Mipad 4 and 4 Plus are still great tablet if not for the end of support (Miui 10 Android 8 only)

Wow! $369 is pretty high price for what is essentially a basic tablet?

Your MiPad 4 Plus is a 10.1" tablet, while this is a 10.61" tablet - that's where the extra size comes in...

I'm comparing this Redmi Pad to a Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad 2022 or the global equivalent of the Lenovo Tab M10 3rd Gen - identical specs save for the Redmi have 90 Hz screen, and the Helios G99 vs the Snapdragon 680... oh, the Redmi has faster storage with UFS 2.2 while the Lenovo is eMCP...
