Been thinking of getting a second line as a backup and looking into those with data roaming built in (since I like to go to Malaysia)

-Whose data connectivity is better? In Singapore and in Malaysia
------ I heard TPG connectivity is bad when underground, is this the same for Redone?

-How is TPG's roaming in Indonesia (specifically Batam)

There's no need for "in my honest opinion". Forums by default is all opinion, unless is a fact.

But sure, ydy. At this point I think many of us see your username, the first line already get filtered out automatically. Those new would just be confused by that part.

redone roaming in indo is 50 cent per mb while tpg has free 1gb which can last 5 days for light social media use. if you exceed its only $4 per GB

If u go msia regularly within the month, then would exceed the 1G limit (TPG for the senior plan) then go for redone where u got 5G to use in msia. Since you looking it as backup line meaning, you have a main line to use for normal usage in SG.

Taking into consideration of SG and MY only, I would go with redOne and provided you do not use any StarHub line as the main line (redOne using SH network in SG).

I used both before (SIMBA as mainline and redOne as 3rd line) and currently my spouse is


$8 for 5GB for fail safe redundancy in SG. It is near the lowest $5-7 for some other MVNO.


redOne roaming in MY is Maxis, Digi and U Mobile. While SIMBA roaming in MY is Celcom.



personally, I would choose redOne I use more than just GRAB in MY. If it is simply for food and GRab, then SIMBA.


then after you pay $10 for 100GB, you will think lugi and end up with SIMBA as mainline like me.


then you want redundancy, you end up with $10 SImBa plus $8 redOne like me previously…..

It works for any telco as indo telco wave is pretty strong.

No point getting yourself into this situation in the first place.

easier than changing a physical sim to MY or ID sim
