Reformat PC Guide / PSU Issue

Dear All, it’s been 5 years suddenly my rig is down due to PSU spoil. I proceed to buy a new FSP power supply and install it myself.

everything was good but sometimes the pc will auto restart with blank screen on monitor. Is like a loop restart. I troubleshoot by remove my USB mouse and keyboard. Seems to work. Now I try use VGA cable instead of HDMI.

during restart, pc fans and light all still working.

so now I hand itchy go restore pc to previous update as I update windows. Now pc struck at blue screen.

what’s is the correct way to reformat my pc?

download windows 10 64 bit then make to iso file use Rufus? Long time no reformat need help from here to refresh.

can just download the media file into usb. then boot from usb.

No need unless you are updating BIOS.
How old is this PC and what it's spec?
Sounds like RAM may have issue also if sometimes cannot turn on.

RAM should be okay as I have resit the rams to another 2 SLOTS.

Diy in 2015.

I have inspected the motherboard. All capacitors are not bloated. No funny things okay mainboard also.

Just go microsoft website download the Win 10 ISO.

Can choose to create bootable USB from Microsoft Win10 ISO creator. (All data on the flash drive will be deleted)

Just brought new SSD. just to check if I should disconnect my current ssd and plug only new ssd to install the os. Then after install plug back old ssd to see my old data. Now os crash cannot enter window After update.

Given the age if the RAM is brought locally, you can bring to Convergent to check.
Sometimes RAM can work but if you encounter random restart/cannot turn on it's high
change RAM is faulty.

Corsair have lifetime Warranty, if they have stock they can replace for you on the spot.
There are shops like Fuwell still selling brand new Corsair DDR3 RAM.

After you install Windows on new SSD, you can plug back the old SSD but remember to change boot sequence.
I suggest bring the RAM for checking first before proceeding with install Windows on new SSD.

will PSU spoil damaged any component.

Yes when PSU blow, it will affect many components such as RAM, Motherboard are affected
By such scenario than it's not just RAM but motherboard faulty.

Since you mention some USB ports not working as well than that is clear sign motherboard is faulty.
The CPU and mobo you are using is quite old, not to mention that CPU is slow.
If you got budget, time for upgrade either brand new or second hand.

Second hand wise you can look for either Intel 3rd/4th gen CPU with mobo,
should cost around $200- $300. The RAM can reused but I suggest bring to service
center let them check, the RAM maybe shorted out during the PSU blow.

Brand one CPU and mobo wise will be around $500.
Example Asus A520M with Ryzen 3200G is around $3XX but you have to get brand new DDR4
will cost you around $100 so in total is around $500 for brand new setup.

Casing, PSU and SSD you can reused.

Okay bro thanks. I will try monitor first and install new OS. If need change new rig i surely go for AMD. INTEL I not a fan.

antway I only use for surf net and see YouTube.
can suggest a good setup for amd ray zen. APU cpu. No need for gfx

Budget? Intel is also OK but the decision is up to you.
