Does anyone know? My iMac went dead and I want to get the recently refreshed MacBook Pro fast. Can't wait until middle of next week for apple site to deliver.

Also I'm eligible for edu pricing. I know shops don't do that so what's the best discount we can expect out of the shops?

i think you can check with major retailer like Epicentre and ask their staff when will the latest model be in store, however most likely it will be later than next week so i would recommend you to purchase from Apple store online since your eligible for edu pricing too which is cheaper.

Shops are unable to give you any discount on the price of Apple product itself as it will break the contract conditions between them and Apple, thus they usually give you additional bonus items like screen protector, keyboard protector, casing or external hdd etc... which i find it useless most of the time because i have them already unless its a free ram upgrade :s22:

Most shops already have the refreshed mbp but yeah they can't do edu pricing and they only have standard config units. We seriously need a proper apple store in Singapore.

I ordered my refreshed rmbp on 30 July and got it delivered on 31 July. Ordered through apple directly over the phone, with education discount applied as well.

You ordered standard config? If you want to customize your purchase it takes longer as it's shipped from shanghai I think.

Custom builds are shipped from Shenzhen I think. It's usually quite quick anyway, often faster than estimate. :)

Yes it's but why get it from the shops? If you want the standard config and need it fast, apple can deliver in 1-2 days. And you may qualify for edu pricing. If you want to customize your purchase it can be done much easier on apple website as well. I think the waiting time is likely the same. I feel for the retailers. Apple is not supporting them at all.

Looking to get some freebies if possible :s13:

But currently it doesn't seem like they have any promotional bundles for the refreshed Macbooks so... Perhaps i'll just get it from the online store.
