Hi,

Anybody got opinion on refurb mac? I think it should be similar to new mac, save for some slight cosmetic issue. Any possible internal hardware problem? I wanna get one.

Based on my experience they're as good as new & they go through stricter QC process compared to retail models.
I've had very good experiences with refurb macs, iPads.

There's even 1 year full warranty available & they allow you to add applecare.

Sent from Xiaomi REDMI NOTE 4 using GAGT

Same here for me.... very good experience. Just bought a macbook pro 2017 version maxed out specs. Huge savings.... looks as good as new. dont have cosmetic issues too. Internals are ok. But dont expect 0 cycle count for battery charge. Expect somewhere between 1-4

Most won't have cosmetic issue for refurb. The only diff is the packaging box, not the retail one. I even have extra US plug for my power adaptor.

Cosmetic wise no issue for me. Battery cycle is about 20+ when I bought it. Close to 4 years still no problem at all. Heng I didn’t buy Apple Care. Saved another few Hundred bucks .

As for the plug , they will give u all the plugs. Long , short and uk and us

Thanks guys! reaffirm my confidence in mac refurb.

You can always request for return of the refurb product. After receiving, they will refund you 100 percent and even have a follow up call from their customer service officer asking reason for return and how they can improve.

Or if you found a better model that popped up at the rfb store. Which is what i did... a better model came up on the store and i returned what i originally bought.

Agreed with the others. Refurbished macs are as good as new. Really a bargain. The thing is they're always gone very fast. So make up your mind soon.

Just placed an order for a refurb 15.4 MBP 2016 and awaiting delivery.

I didn’t commit when I saw it on the online store and when I decided to get it 10mins later, it was gone. The stocks go fast. Took the plunge immediately when the same model popped up 5hrs later. :s13:

Too bad 2017 refurb is not available.

Just received the refurb 15 MBP from the courier.

Surprised that it comes in the usual MBP white box, completed with the brown outer box. I have heard previously, refurb ones come in some other packaging, different from brand new ones.

If not for the word 'Refurbished' on the box, I would have mistaken that Apple sent me a brand new one..:s13

Everything looks good, except for some light smudge marks on the top cover which are not very obvious unless I take a closer look against light.

Battery counts at 4 which is another surprise since I am expecting a higher cycle.

Worth the purchase since it is flawless and I saved $600 off the retail price.

Refurbished box is simpler white box with the name.

Original box got MBP picture on it right.

I got a 2015 MBP Retina, and bought AppleCare for it.

Battery count at 2 only. :D

Actually u can tell apple that u r seeing smudges on the top cover if it bothers you. But unless the rfb store still has that exact same model, you probably cant replace it le.
