y not? same 1 yr warranty. if u want to extend using AppleCare also possible.

Im a refurbished mac user, can vouch the quality still remains
And yes you're covered by the same warranty as new boxed models, as refurb sets are tested to work and perform exactly like the sealed and boxed sets

Yes its worth it if price difference is huge... sometimes u can get 2014 Macs for a reduced price... it looks rly good as if its new,from wad I hear from reviews....y nt buy from education store? Alternatively,u can get a non retina mbp and do DIY upgrades on ur own for better specs!

for popular model, it does have a lot of refurbished stock on the online store even upgraded model, i saw all variants of early 2015 rMBP 13-inch on the online store, from all variants of base models to the upgraded model with i7, 16GB on top of each base model too.

this one is attractive to me. less than 2k, but is should the real powerhaus machine as a 13-inch rMBP.

If you can get education price go for education price, the refurb items are priced similar to the edu price. (At least for the 2015 refurb models that I seen so far)

yes, 128GB ssd is a waste of time. not even enough space to run bootcamp comfortably.
the models i pasted earlier are all 256GB version

that's why i am looking at the 256GB version only.

8GB ram is already the minimum ram on all the base model of rMBP, so it is not a big problem. Actually it is more than sufficient for normal usage unless one is doing video rendering/running VMs etc, other than that, 16GB is more for further proof. But sometimes, I am considering if the upgrade is worthwhile from 8GB to 16GB given the price of sgd250++. I am thinking the saving of this may allow me to upgrade the MacBook even at an earlier stage next time.

If u wanna futureproof get 16gb ram version from refurbished store? For me I think its ok to get 8gb version. If its 4gb its too little.... I feel $250+ for extra 8gb ram is too much....If u go look around nowadays rams r quite cheap.... Apple charges a premium for higher ram and ssd now that its soldered to motherboard...

Yes 8gb is actually more than enough for normal use. I am thinking to save the extra sgd250+ for the extra 8gb ram for next time earlier upgrade too,

Yup the dedicated graphic card model is indeed about the same price as edu price.

Maybe it is also due to the fact that there are much much lesser refurbished stock for the 15-inch model therefore less rebate for the refurbished one, this model only appears in the stock not long ago.
