Currently I am using old 2x4gb ram. If I want to slot ram stick. Can I add in a 1x8gb ram. I have another 2 slot available to slot in. Or is better not to mix and get 2 new 1x8gb ram or 3 new 1x8gb ram for 16 or 24gb ram?

Any ram from Corsair will do? Now is ddr5? Can it work with my Msi mobo?

Thanks.

Your board is as your profile right?
If yes means you can only get DDR3 RAM. You cannot use DDR4 RAM to slot into your board. It cannot fit.

And if you plan to get DDR3 8GB ram, like what yusoffb01 says, some board allows that but i wouldnt take the risk.

So I just get 2x 8gb ddr3 ram? Can i get 3x 8gb ddr3? I will remove the old 4gb 2x stick.

Can add ram but risk failure.

Prefer to remove the 4gb ram

Then add 2x8gb to be stable.

No point getting 4+4+8 ram to get bsod everyday right
