PDI contacts

Firstly , I would like to mention he don't even deserve a one star rating. Engaged him through an agent called Le driving, after that went online to see reviews about him, saw bad reviews posted by others during 2009 times , hence thought it was so long ago and maybe he might change for the better so gave him a chance to teach me and I just gave it a try, first lesson everything was still ok still fine seems chatty and good , (mind you agent states that if you wanna change an instructor you have to change after first lesson otherwise gotta pay another enrollment fee) so probably this might be the reason he is acting on the first lesson. Second lesson onwards , he slowly start scolding , he doesn't go into details when teaching and just briefly say out what should be done and all without even teaching it properly, ask 1 time he explains but second time still unsure he starts raising his voice , no patience at all, eat during lesson, end lesson super early , still asked me to stop by and he went to buy newspapers and chat with his friends ,kept on scolding non stop, when you make mistake and he keep question why why why, and you do not know what to do and just keep quiet he will just scold you and say Aiya don't want say already la, say already also no use , not happy learning with me go find another instructor , no instructor will even want to teach you. Oh so he is stating his so good so patient ? Definitely not . went for 7 lessons with him , he wasted my time and money, kept asking me drive around , keep saying my driving not good and all , aft passing FTT told him I want to speed up and learn faster to go for TP faster , he just refuse to teach me other things yet stating that I still can't drive well. oh and remember I mentioned he said I was bad at driving and no instructor would even want to teach me ? Haha sorry but I got to say no the problem lies with him. How can I be so sure ? Because when I cannot take it anymore so annoyed by him feeling that I'll slap him anytime if I continue learning from him. I decided to stop going for his lessons and just take up another PDI and change to SSDC instead. My new PDI is super good for sure 100 times better than BENSON ONG HOCK CHAI LIGHT BLUE HONDA JAZZ 2208 . My new PDI (SSDC,Mr Ng), on first lesson he get me to tell him everything why I change PDI and all, he need to know my back ground before knowing how to teach, he let me drive around for the first lesson in order to see how well I drove , my new PDI has 41 years of teaching experience and is really good , he is very specific in teaching , he is funny and chatty , he is really good , on second lesson with him he taught me directional change and told me that I was a fast learner and that he taught me once and I know how to do it already, and so on third lesson with him , he taught me vertical parking and train it together with the directional change and once again he too said I learn fast and will proceed to learn parrallel parking on next lesson. He even told me that my driving skills was ok, i could manage oil and brake well. He mentioned he have seen worst students and that he too does nag at student who are really too poor , and help them to improve . He too is very shock on why BENSON ONG keep says my driving is not good and does not want to teach me other stuff . Now I've proved BENSON ONG wrong because he once said my driving not good and no instructor will want me . Sad to say I can go in circuit very soon after I picked up parrallel parking ! I'm glad that I've changed PDI, luckily to a 100 times better one . I do regret not changing earlier and ended up wasting my time and money for 7 lessons with BENSON ONG.to BENSON ONG don't even look down on your students , you don't even look like a PDI! Sorry to be harsh but he really tested my patience , you guys can go ahead and give it a try and you will know why I'm so pissed ! WILL NEVER RECCOMEND HIM! He is too much! REMEMBER NEVER EVER TAKE ON BENSON ONG HOCK CHAI HONDA JAZZ LIGHT BLUE 2208 hp: 91472208

Do you mind sharing the contact details of your new PDI please?
Thank you!

Will private be able to get slots much more easily as compared to school?

School's next available lesson gonna be in March. That's a long time. :(

Sent from ME using GAGT

Pte slots solely depend on the instructor u are with .. if he is free and he willing to take u up, any time also can one.. but if the pte instructor too free think u wont want to take him also haha

but if u still want to stick with sch, u can just try to log in every hour to take up the slot which other ppl cancel.. then can take earlier slots. but u with cdc or bbdc ? ssdc?

With BBDC right now.

I learnt manual before then went overseas for work so I stopped half way. After a long time, I thot I just go for manual. That's why I was thinking if go private, I might be able to go for lesser lessons as long as the PDI is comfortable especially since I learnt before.

No need lah!

Rent a cheap manual car and drive. 1 hour later, you can drive with both eyes closed already.

Just get a friend who are regular driver to sit beside you and guide you. That would be very nice and practical.

true that.. but if unable to find any friends or relatives, a PDI is also practical.. after all even if rent car maybe also need to pay more when PDI only $30+ per hour.. unless the friend or relative willing to lend u their car

Hmmm...yap..that's true also... getting a pdi is still the best. Don't need to ask any help from anyone..

Hey all, just want to introduce my PDI, Mr Ng Chin Lye. He teaches at Ubi CDC Class 3A. No pick-ups, you have to go there and meet him. He has teaching experience of more than 36 years and has a complete set of teaching methods to pass it on. It's super useful for both road and circuit for beginners. It will really help you to pass your TP easy like 1 2 3!

The way he taught me was really keen to teach me every step and every small error that can occur in the circuit or road. Those areas where students normally get errors he will also highlight to me.

Under his guidance I passed my TP on first attempt after 20 lessons in total on 29 Dec 15. Just give you a breakdown on what are taught in his classes. First is to teach you left turn right turn, the methods to control the steering wheel. Next he'll teach you the roads that you will need to know during your TP. Then he'll teach you how to do parking and finally circuit.

Personally I felt I did not need as much as 20 lessons in total before taking TP test. But it was his recommendation to all his students, you can discuss with him if you want to take less. But if you fail, your problem ah. OH, and he wants to keep his passing rate high. So rest assured he will want you to pass. The last time I saw his passing rate was about 68%, top 2nd of the whole Singapore PDI list. 1st is from BBDC, the reason probably because Ubi road has plenty more cars than Bukit Batok.

So in this 20 lessons I made lots of mistakes which I am glad I did, I learnt a lot from him. Constantly I was aiming to do a no-mistake for a lesson. But I keep making new mistakes, which you think about it if you don't make the mistakes during practical lessons, you might do it during your TP test and bring the chance of failing your TP higher. During my practical lessons, I've seen plenty of cars taking the TP test doing obvious mistakes, which Mr.Ng of course pointed out and asked me to observe carefully.

I know what you're thinking, my friends told me they took about 4-6 circuit lessons before taking TP. I thought the same too until I took my TP test. It was a breeeeeeeeze for me really. My tester was really fierce towards me. He wanted everything fast and sped up, for the first time he said overtake the car in the circuit, I didn't hear clearly so I asked him what did he say again. His reply was like "Overtake lah, dunno how overtake ah? How to drive road like that?". So I did everything in a single attempt and quick. I received 12 demerits for changing lane abruptly x 2 and never check blind spot x 1. The changing of lanes, the road was wide and empty, not sure why he deducted though. I turned my head to check blind spot and all. I found I did my TP test almost perfect, but I guess he just had to deduct some marks.

So I'm saying, the more lessons you take, the easier the TP test will be. Mr.Ng won't cheat your money. His daughters are already working and taking their Masters, so this is like his day past time.

During your lessons, for all your major mistakes, he will record it down so the next time you go for lesson, he'll take note. Before your TP, he will also tell you what are your mistakes that you might make during your TP. Overall, he does a complete package for you to pass your TP test.

I'm not paid to promote him or anything, just a student that promised to write him a good review cause he really taught me a lot. If you want to book him, be prepared to wait till Feb onwards cause he's fully booked. He might turn some students away to other of his friends, but if you're lucky then he might take you in. He speaks mostly chinese but english a bit a bit also can. :s13: There is one time registration I think its increased to $60 already. His rates for weekdays 1.5hrs is $48, 1hr is $34. Weekends and public holidays is $51. If you're interested, give him a call to double confirm his rates again at 96828502. If you want to quote me, say I'm the guy who took his Thai candy cause I was coughing badly on TP test day itself :D

Good luck all!
