Hello! Just wanted to come here and recommend my PDI, Mr Loh Lian Choon. He teaches 3A at CDC Ubi. I've heard of so many driving instructor horror stories from sleeping during lessons to aimless lessons but rest assured Mr Loh is not like that.
Pros:
1. He is super organised!! He records down all lessons in his diary and even takes special note if you are doing circuit etc, so you don't ever have to worry that he will forget lesson. He also has a attendance sheet for every student to see how many lessons you've done, what routes you've learnt and how many circuit sessions you've attended.
2. Very nice guy. Slightly sexist cos he's convinced guys defo drive better than girls lah but apart from that, he's like a friendly uncle who truly wants the best for you. He only scolds you when needed, but overall quite encouraging. He will say stuff like very good ah you ask a lot of good questions! He was smiling happily when I passed and was jumping for joy like this

3. He does pick ups from Nex and somewhere in the east (can't rmb bedok or something?) so it's rly convenient for those living in the north east or east.
4. He has lots of materials and good lesson structure. He will show you the possible test routes, the scoring sheet for driving test and a whole bunch of pictures and stuff to aid your understanding. Sometimes he will ask you take pics to go study at home hahah. I never felt like he was cheating my money by asking me to go random places, all his lessons got purpose one.
5. Very attentive. He won't sleep or use phone during class unless students call him. He's damn alert and actually pressed brake for me several times while I was still super not confident and messed up.
6. He gives lots of useful tips for circuit which honestly saved my life. Even for parallel parking, he will break it into small steps then ask you to write it down and memorise. 10/10 effective. Did not mount or hit kerb at all during my test
Cons:
1. Mr Loh doesn't speak English. A bit of a bother lah but he speaks mandarin and malay. So if you're semi comfortable with either language, should be good enough.
2. He's usually fully booked about 1-2 weeks in advance, so I usually resort to booking him 2 weeks ahead of time in order to secure timing. But i guess that just proves he's a good and popular instructor? haha
3. He doesn't really do night lessons, so probably a pain in the ass for working population. But as a student, it didn't really affect me.
4. His lessons are on the pricier side: $60 per 1.5 hours on weekdays before 5pm, $66 per 1.5 hours on weekdays after 5pm + weekends. But honestly he teaches well... I don't regret paying more to get good quality teaching.
My friend and I took lessons from him and we BOTH PASSED ON THE FIRST TRY within about 3 months!!!! I have alrdy made plans to take extra lessons to learn how to drive on highway and how to park outside!!
His phone number is 96170741. He doesn't respond to messages LOL so call him.
