my wife used to learn from Mr William but failed twice under him. recently she decided to take 3A instead of 3 n also changing to SSDC since there is lesser traffic there n it's only 5 mins drive from our home. but last heard is Mr William is getting a auto car, maybe he teaching 3A too.

I dont know this 3a instructor but he is introduced by my manual instructor.

Call him if you are looking for 3a instructor, i'm not sure whether he can go to tampines or queenstown area. However it's common that lesson meet up is usually at ubi cdc if they are registered there. If you are thinking to have lesson around your area, you gotta take times finding instructor who provide pick-up services.

However I have no responsibility if the above instructor is not up to your expectation. =X

For instance, my test date is 25th march. Is it recommended to take lessons from 21th - 25th? I'm learning private at bukit batok, goes to private circuit regularly.

My test timing is 0915, is it stupid to book at such timing? Any advices/suggestions for me before I go for my test next week?

It depends on how confident you are. My PDI mentioned b4 that some of his students didnt have lessons a few days prior to the test, some didnt even opt for warm-up and they still managed to pass.

For myself, I know that I'm the type who has to keep practising to maintain and improve my skills. If I stop for a week plus, my skills will sort of 'rusty'. Thus I choose to go for intensive lessons b4 the test date.

Sunday: BBDC circuit
Thurs: 1.5hr
Fri: 1.5hr
Sat: 1.5hr warm-up + TP test

I resaoned that the benefits of spending the additional amt of money to increase my chances of passing far more outweights the cost of retaking the TP test again

The rental of car is already $150, TP cost $20, not to mention the additional lessons that you have to go through again. Agony, anguish and stress waiting for your next TP test date.

you can also go for either warm up or one lesson the day before to maintain the 'feel'.

If it helps, go for it.

Timing is a bit early, but by the time you hit the road, traffic conditions should have moderated by then. Good luck and hope you get a good tester.

If you can afford it, and if you can book those lesson dates (and if your PDI is not cmi), why not? Go for it! If you are quite good at driving already, take it as confidence driving. No harm practicing more parking anyway.

I also booked the timing from 9 - 11 AM so that I can roughly get the feeling how the traffic conditions will be.

Btw is it necessary to go book for circuit inside BBDC if you're always practicing in the private circuit? Definitely a yes right?

And the only route i'm afraid of is the teck whye route, the up slope STOP sign one. I hate using hand brakes, so I hope my tester won't bring me there. And I heard that only BBDC has this steep upslope. Haha

Thanks! My instructors all different one, they are all under a private school run by Mr Lim, the private circuit at at the old camp also under him. I tried like 6 instructors and finally got this instructor (kenny) as my permanent one.

I'm doing Class 3, I hope to pass the first time. My friend whose doing Class 3 failed his TP yesterday. He said the tester very asshole.

On the side note, I dint know there was such a thread. If I knew I would probably get my skills right already rather than switching instructors for 6-7 times.

Glad to know that you have done some planning for yourself. But it seems to me that you have never go into BBDC circuit before and that is a big nono. Knowing the terrain well gives you more confidence and also avoid making unnecccesary mistakes.

Examples:

1. The lanes in circuit are generally narrower, so if turning left/ right, you might unwittingly cut into other ppl's lane (wide turning).

2. I remember one particular incident that happened to me the first time I went in. Most of the roads in BBDC circuit are one lane type but at the small traffic junction (yes, they do have traffic light junction), its actually 2 lane.

I wasnt aware of that, when I turn right into the road leading to the traffic light, I went into the left lane instead of the right lane. When my PDI pointed it out: "Where's your lane discipline", I was still blur blur and asked what happened.

3. Know where are the stop lines and the direction of traffic flows.
Ppl have got immed failure for not stopping at the stop line and that is really a pity. I have a friend who took his lessons at CDC and he told me that some testers there actually sabo the students by telling them to turn into a one way traffic lane. He was driving on his lane where a car from opposite direction drove in, so the 2 cars was sort of facing each other. You dont have to think very hard to know that this is a immed failure also.

I'm not trying to scare you but just want you to know that all these are mistakes that any one can avoid.

So tell your PDI that you want to go to BBDC circuit, if possible at 11am. That's when BBDC instuctors have lunch and you dont have to spend time queuing up in the circuit.

I think I got that teck whye route for my test, the one with the u-turn right? Oops, or is it the one where you have to turn right (after the stop sign), from minor road to major road.

The more afraid you are, the more you should practise. That's the only way to overcome it and that's what I did too. Good luck!

Try to go at least 2 times. My 1.5hr warm up consist of 1 hr in BBDC circuit and 1/2hr on the road.
