Reliable Private Driving Instructor?

Looking for honest ssdc pdi MANUAL woodlands/admiralty

Hi all, have a few things i need to clarify,

1. What happens when I book the TP with an instructors IC and halfway throughout I find that my instructor isnt serious hence wasting my time and money, when I change my instructor does my TP get cancelled due to change of IC or I can just update particulars?

2. I need an honest, reliable, patient pdi from ssdc , pick up point preferably admiralty.
I know there are alot of those instructors at the admiralty mrt waiting around for students and if I were to approach them, I'm sure they gonna rip me off. Can't judge a book by its cover.

3. Anyone can advice the legit costs for the current market. e.g non peak - peak on average, circuit, TP .

Side note : I'm asking on behalf of my Sis, so any females have any good experiences with such pdi please feel free to tell me your exp and their contact

Auto you can expect to pay 32/34 per hour, 30 is probably a good deal and for Manual, I think 30 an hour is standard. From my experience, most Instructors don't bother about peak/ off peak hour rates.

Towards my test, the main PDI, lets call him Mr. O, took over from Mr. T
Boy! it was a world of difference, Mr. O is damn good and he does not take pee breaks (at least not during my lessons anyway, Mr. T pee break quite standard 10-15mins every lesson)

Mr. O is very professional, he explains things very clearly, draws charts and stuff (Mr.T not very good at explain things...)
And I can feel he genuinely wants me to understand and pass my test, because he is very busy sometimes my lesson with him can be late like 10pm to 11pm or 11.30pm but he doesn't mind......

If he had started teaching me earlier I probably wont need to take so many lessons from Mr. T and would have saved some $$$

My experince on my 1st lesson.

I got this instructor number from a colleague. Today start my 1st lesson, he ask me if I have gone for any lesson, told him no, totally a beginner, and he told me to learn auto, he say easier, told him that no, I want manual, he keep discouraging me even before starting. He start telling me the theory and asking me questions for almost 1hr and the last half hr, he make me try the pedals and the steering wheel, I'm quite nervous and keep holding the wheel wrongly. I didn't get a chance to drive. At the end of the lesson, he told me, i wouldn't be able to learn manual, I should go for auto, since I can't even hold the wheel properly whats more coordinate hands and legs. I told him no, I will still want to go ahead with manual. He said then find another instructor, he is packed couldn't spare too many slot for me, he then give me another instructor number.

He seems to only interested in teaching those who are not 1st timer, its my 1st lesson and expect me to get right on everything taught, very impatient and also probably cos I'm a gal so he doesn't think I will make it learning manual and would pull down his passing rate.

Oh well, got to find another pdi. Wasted my evening. Anyone got manual cdc pdi who will teach charbo?

Im looking for a new driving instructor, Class 3 auto. My current instructor and me really doesnt get along very well, in fact we quarrel rather often. If anyone has a instructor that is english spoken and patient it'll be great! Probably someone that lives in the north area too.

Woah....after reading all your horror stories, looks like its really hard to find a good PDI.
think i'm lucky to a certain extend.

Mine actually work in partnership with another instructor.
Initial lessons are by his partner, lets call him Mr. T

Mr. T, allowed me to drive almost straight away on my first lesson (I did not have any prior experience, totally new to driving), he showed me the basics then let me drive around in a carpark, before asking me to drive outside to the roads...the first lesson was pretty good, he also teach me 3-point turn and basic parking.

After that basically 75% of all the lessons i'm doing parking...parallel and vertical, did not have much driving outside and changing lane (which i'm very weak at), it became very routine.
Most of the time Mr. T, would fall asleep once we reach the carpark and I started doing my parking.........it was quite boring.........but I also became quite good at parking......so not sure if I should be complaining.......

Hi I'm searching for a reliable and patient private auto PDI, preferably in the west side. Would appreciate if anyone could send me any details of a good private driving instructor as my PDL is expiring soon and I have yet to find a good PDI

Hi all. I just passed my driving test today (First attempt!). Kena one of the infamous "terrible" testers but I managed to pass with 16 demerit points (all anyhow give one).



Anyway would sincerely recommend my PDI. Let me share my experience with my fellow HWZers.

I was recommended by a friend to engage Mr Lee Liak Hong to learn Auto driving. He teaches both Auto and Manual but prefers to teach Auto. His car is a chrome toyota and is very clean and well maintained. Now his charges are higher than the average fees from other PDIs but it's DAMN worth it. You pay for the quality. (Read on...)

Basically, he is the down-to-earth kinda instructor who is very patient and attentive in teaching. (Never sleep/doze off on the job) He will not scold or raise voice at you even if you make grave mistakes (+1 as you know how terrible a student will feel if kena F for every mistake).
One particular incident I will never forget was during my initial stages of learning. I made too wide a turn that almost hit the car turning behind. He pulled the steering wheel and didn't say a word. After the car was out of danger, he told me to slowly go to the side of the road and stop. He explained very calmly about my mistake and the dangers, and went through with me what I did wrong and what I should have done. I was really scared but impressed with his teaching methods. The way he teaches is very reassuring and honestly, makes you feel confident in driving.

Every lesson is a relaxed atmosphere. Not those tense, kanchiong type. He will not waste your time asking you do stupid things. Every lesson you sure learn something new and he will correct your mistakes. He is also very flexible and accommodating to your changes (even last minute ones). MOST IMPORTANTLY, he is VERY well mannered! If you don't believe, go to the coffee shop outside Comfort Delgro Driving Centre and observe. Most of the PDIs are very shabby looking, full of vulgarities, loud and "stare" at girls. You can hear the KNN, **, !~@#$%^ stuff.

Before your actual driving test, he will usually schedule a circuit and road lesson on the same day to give you a very thorough "pre-test" course. He will also give you a map of the circuit and tell you to look through it before every circuit lesson.

From his record, most of his students pass on the first if not second try. Many students also jump from school/other instructors to him so his schedule is always packed. So must arrange subsequent lessons in advance.

Summary

I know of this good instructor that is from Bukit Batok. Lost his no. already but he is a Malay guy, driving a old golden Honda City, 2922 or 2292 whichever it is. His students' passing rate are almost all 1st time. Good instructor, patient and give good real life example of scenarios. He usually parks his car at the Esso just beside BBDC. Hope this can help.
